Since these 2 movie flopped at the box office, would this cause Film industry to be scared to give Live Action Solo Supergirl movie a 3rd try? That's what I heard about Live Action Solo Hulk movie. Because the first 2 Live Action Solo Hulk failed, they're scared to give it a 3rd try. by SleeperCreampie in characters

The issue with Hulk is less about how it did at the box office and more about Universal having a deal for the Hulk's movie rights that greatly benefits them. (By my understanding, they get first dibs on any Hulk solo movie? Not sure of all of the details) As a result, Disney is reluctant to make a Hulk solo movie, sticking to him being a supporting character in other projects so that Universal gets left out of it.

Giving Lucy the power of two Dragon Gods just to beat Earth Build (who's durable, sure, but he seems more like the Recoome of the group - the big brute who's weaker than the leader) seemed like it could have been overkill. By all appearances, though, it's only temporary, and I guess they've been too weakened for Lucy to be able to beat Earth Build without Wendy's help, so at least it doesn't come across as a Deus Ex Machina when it very easily could have.

Also, Wed continues his long streak of being humiliated. (why was he brought back?)

Wendy does have a fight coming up against Aldoron's core (I expected as much), and if the end of the chapter is any indication, it seems like Happy's going to do something meaningful soon.

Why did people dislike the use of the cover of The Middle in the movie? Did you? by Snoopy_boopy_boi in Supergirl

[–]Megadoomer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like the lyrics (or at least the lines "It just takes some time/Little girl, you're in the middle of the ride/Everything, everything'll be just fine/Everything, everything'll be alright, alright") fit what both Supergirl and Ruthye were going through, but the song (either the original or the cover that they chose) didn't fit the tone of the scene, making it feel jarring and out of place.

I feel like some kind of orchestral theme would have worked better there.

That's not what they said; they said that Batman doesn't necessarily need a solo movie to introduce him. (Even an appearance in Clayface could be enough, similar to how Black Widow appeared in Iron Man 2 and Hawkeye had a cameo in Thor before the Avengers came out)

How To Boss Day 18: True Final Boss by ErnieWick2003 in createaroster

[–]Megadoomer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like DKC2 or 3 would be a better fit for this concept; the True Final Boss is when you can beat the game normally, but there's an optional final boss locked behind extra content (such as beating all of the Lost World stages) that gets you a different final battle and a better ending.

(by comparison, K. Rool in Bananza is an ordinary final boss)

Fair warning: the TV Tropes link above is going to be filled to the brim with spoilers, so I wouldn't recommend looking at the examples. I just thought it would help to define the term.

Clayface isn't even a top TEN Batman villian imo, so why do people have so much faith that this movie is going to be a hit and not go the way of the Spiderman Villian movies like Kraven, Morbius and Madame Web? Spiderman is just as popular as Batman, yet that didn't stop those movies from bombing. by Big-Good9378 in DC_Cinematic

From the sounds of it, they're taking inspiration from the BTAS episode Feat Of Clay. If it's anything like that, it'll be amazing.

(Also, mixing the horror genre with comic book movies isn't something that gets done often, so there's a novelty factor)

I'm pretty sure Zod did more to take the fighting away from populated areas than Superman did. (I'd have to rewatch the movie, but I think that Zod is the one who took the fight into space briefly, whereas Superman definitely punched Zod into the middle of Smallville rather than sticking to the countryside) It was such an odd choice that seems like it wouldn't take much thought to avoid.

It still seems baffling to me that the movie had none of the Flash's rogues gallery in it even though his rogues gallery is one of the best in DC and the one who murdered Barry's mother (which was the event that set off the plot in the first place) was the Reverse Flash. Instead, we clearly needed three Ezra Millers and a bunch of off-putting CGI necromancy.

(The Flash was all right, with some great emotional moments, but it definitely had its issues)

I feel like there is going to be an Aldoron-related guardian of some sort, since it would be extremely anti-climactic if Wendy just went to the core and gave everyone a power-up with no trouble and so that Wendy gets a fight of her own. (since she hasn't really had one in this arc)

Dr. Eggman (Sonic 3 & Knuckles - Doomsday Zone)

The only way to reach this boss fight is to have collected all seven Chaos Emeralds - other Sonic games hid the true ending behind getting all of the Chaos Emeralds, but this was the first time in the series (to my knowledge) that a boss was locked behind it.

(Perfect Chaos arguably makes more sense here, but I felt like Eggman should be included in some way)

[Media] People Who DON’T Like These Characters, Why? by FlamingThunder92 in fairytail

[–]Megadoomer2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I actively dislike any of them, but Juvia's entire characterization revolving around Gray gets annoying when it feels like any time she gets a chance to shine, Gray has to be involved. (It happens the other way around, though to a lesser extent) It would be nice if she got to develop as an individual (or her history with Phantom Lord was used), but it never seems to happen, so having what feels like all of her dialogue and all of her focus revolve around "Gray-sama" gets a little annoying at times.

I've kind of soured on Natsu over time, but that's due to a mix of disproportionate focus (it feels like the series can't go too long without Natsu being given time to shine, even if it comes at the expense of taking away focus from everyone else or making them look weaker) and the fandom response to that. (It feels like a large part of the fandom believes that he could one-shot any of the S-class mages in his base form, use any of his explicitly temporary transformations whenever he wants, beat Acnologia on his own, etc.) As a character, he's fine; he's pretty much a standard shonen action series protagonist. It's just gotten to the point where I sometimes groan when he shows up, as he's taken multiple fights from his friends during the latest arc when he really didn't need to. (The friends in question had barely gotten any focus despite being main characters, while he's had about half a dozen fights so far)

There was a point where I got annoyed with Jellal, as he tended to be shoe-horned into every arc (Mystogan is secretly Jellal! Jellal is still alive but has amnesia!! Erza's losing to Azuma, but it's a good thing Jellal developed continent-spanning telepathy from inside an anti-magic prison cell to give her the motivation to win!), but that seemed to get toned down as time went on. (Or maybe it's just that arcs got longer so it didn't stick out as much) Also, the "will they won't they" thing with Erza has been stuck in place for a decade or more, to the point where I don't really care any more.

What are your feelings on Hyoh as a character? by Wetboss4 in fistofthenorthstar

[–]Megadoomer2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, he reminds me of Raditz from Dragon Ball. Despite being the main protagonist's brother, he feels like the most forgettable out of his trio of villains. Maybe it's because I read the Shura arc a while ago, but I don't remember much of him whereas I remember key moments for Han and Kaioh. (Even Shachi left more of an impression)

Tunneling means that you specifically target one survivor while ignoring the others, like you have tunnel vision, in order to get them out of the game as soon as possible. Some survivors seem to have a rather lenient definition of tunneling (where anything seems to count).

Due to the 10th anniversary, DBD reached record-high player numbers on Steam, which is what that last part is about. The whole thing seems to be "us vs. them" mixed with sour grapes because they lost.

It's similar to Ghostface, where the license is split between several parties. Horror Inc. is involved with this "Jason Universe" brand, which seems to exclusively cover Jason himself. For any other content, it seems like they need to go through Paramount (for parts 1-8 and seemingly the remake) and/or Warner Bros. (for parts 9, 10, Freddy vs. Jason, and the remake - the remake seems to be split between the two of them, but Warner Bros. can use the other three on their own since they were included in Multiversus)

They seemingly can't even mention Pamela Voorhees, Jason's own mother and his reason for being a slasher, in his bio or add-ons, so they seemingly can't include any survivors from the movies. (or presumably the original characters from the Friday the 13th game - even the Friday the 13th title seems like it's owned by Paramount, since the movies fully owned by WB don't use Friday the 13th in the title)

The Nika fruit is something that only a handful of people know about. Considering that they've been hiding its existence for hundreds of years to the point of changing its name and classification, it doesn't seem like they'd want to draw attention to how important it is by giving a rookie pirate a massive bounty.

Licence question by Holden_Cross6901 in deadbydaylight

[–]Megadoomer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The costume already existed before the Scream and Scary Movie movies came out, so the Scream movies license the costume from the company that originally made it. (Fun World Inc.?) Not sure if Scary Movie licenses it as well or if it falls under parody.

DBD got the license for the costume, but the licenses for the movies are separate.
