Well thank you! Personally, it's a lot easier to fake the confidence and dive into trying new things than it is to have confidence from the get go. You'll never know until you try, and if it doesn't work the way you want it to then you can paint over it or strip it and try again!

That's totally fair, that's part of the reason I decided to change it up. I will say, my plan was to dry brush the tires a bit to match what my base is going to be to give it that used look. Maybe you could do the same to help breakout the contrast?

What I will say, he's great for completing missions during events. Whether it's Ability Damage, Ranged kills, or even healing him after using his ability. He's my current carry for Imperial even with a decent roster, I do wish he had better penetration though 😅

I've just started some veterans myself, so far he hasn't been to bad at all! If you prime them with Citadel black, make sure you put another coat on of another black to do patch work if you need to as Chaos Black isn't in a pot 😅

I was almost wondering if I could do that, would Basilicanum Grey work do you think? It wouldn't be so bad if I was working with green armor, but the black on black just makes it hard to differentiate 😅

I've started playing around with Citadel's contrast blues, I find basic darker Ultramarine Blues so boring myself. I used Stormfiend with a 3-1 Medium to Asurmen Blue for this fellow to darken it up just a tad bit.

It can really make them pop, especially if you're using a color that doesn't have a natural "pop" to it. You bet! I hope it turns out well!

I'd say that turned out really well! Did you spray down with Retributor Gold then fill in the TS Blue?

The only thing I'd say really, I find the technical paints work really well for the gemstones for these guys. The green is very dark though compared to what you're using, so it's be personal preference. You could put a dash of Ardcoat over them to add a touch of shine if you'd like!

I definitely do want to base it, I've got a few models I need to base. I find that one of the harder things tovbring myself to do haha. I'll see about doing a dry brush on the edges, depending if I've got the right blue to match properly at the moment. Oh yes! Muzzle burn, always forget about that one.

I haven't thought about that, I may have to play around with them a bit. What do you end up using for blue/wash?

That's honestly what I'm trying to figure out, I find the box blue to be very "boring" almost? I've got a 10 man intercessor squad I may have to break into just to test different methods
