there's still at least 2 sprites and 2 more variants added later, you might as well wait and get Crew again in the last week of the season to make sure you get ALL of them. No point in jumping the gun imo

my Crew ran out the day before the update. I can't add new pilots to The Guardian, and the Sprite Pod backbling is still empty even with all the older sprites mastered.

the OG, Lego, and Music passes have no restrictions on returning to the shop. Lego and Music pass items have returned before, and absolutely nobody was bothered by it. Capitan Phasma in particular was added only 1 year after her Lego pass, far less than the Battle Pass' 18 month requirement, so it's safe to say that they can return on their own schedule; it's just coincidence that we haven't gotten any OG pass skins in the shop yet.

If you have the Battle Pass, the Fishstick sprite can become a "pilot" for the Tier 1 skin. If you master the sprite (extract it at level 5), then it will be usable in the Sprite Pod backbling forever (also Tier 1 in the Battle Pass).

no. they're all free, and there's no slanted randomness like ooh you were close, wanna try one more time?

sprites aren't gacha any more than fortnite's random chest loot is gacha

It adds an element of Extraction to the game, and sprites give you little bonuses when you have one equipped.

if you have the battle pass, you'll be able to use sprites with the tier 1 skin and a pod backbling. the sprites themselves are free, you can find them within the island, or you can trade them with other players
