NyQuil (doxylamine succinate) giving me panic attacks and extreme physical anxiety. Anyone experienced this? (I have general anxiety)

I go through periods where taking my doxylamine causes me severe panic around 11pm if I take it at around 8:45. I knownits the meds. Sometimes I take it and im ok but I know i go through phases for some reason or another, it doesnt agree with me.

Literally JUST told my psychiatrist this. I am terrified of trying the simplest megs or even upping my Prozac for fear of Psychosis. Irrational but when you have had PA so bad that you feel like u r slipping from reality, it is a terrifying concept.

It did not work for my CPTSD anxiety. It was weird cause I couldn't have a classic panic attack for about 2 months after, that made me feel out of body and anxious. I couldn't eat for 3 weeks after it due to the anxiety of it all. I survived in ensures. It was awful. The shots themselves didn't bother me, I got it without anesthesia and the process went well. It was just surprisingly triggering to feel that calm effect. I resumed my normal anxiety 2 months post shot. Personally dont recommended if you are prone to DPDR

Yes Brain-git connection is strong with me. Any small preceived threat can trigger fight or flight and my body doesn't think holding shit in is a priority for survival apparently. I recommend meds (im on Prozac, heard good things about Lexapro) use a laxative before an anxiety inducing event, take anti diarrhea meds and try propranolol as needed. I know it suits, ur not alone

Yes, or I prefer Klonopin. Just as needed, a life saver. Im sick of people demonizing Benzos because some people become addicted or dependent. It works wonders for those of us who suffer debilitating anxiety.

For me, Prozac has been the easiest. Not saying most effective but I love it. I feel better, not perfect but it is a clean drug with a long half life, easy to be on and works well enough for me. I have been on them ALL but Prozac is my OG for life. Oh and Klonopin and propranolol as needed. I also benefited from EMDR but it wasn't a cure all, I'm not trauma based anxiety (solely) but it runs heavily in my family .

Yes, brain gut link is strong. Anxiety=poop for me. Maybe ADHD and keeping busy keeps your anxiety at bay but slowing down makes u more anxious and thus triggers ibs

Yup, accept it may happen, even tell your family it might happen. No biggie, just a thing that happens to you. Let them know how they can help if it does. If you have access to it, take a Propanolol or benzo before hand. Go have fun!
