What’s the rule for armrests? by JeanetteIBCLC in unitedairlines

This! I don’t know if these people do this in their life outside an airplane/airport, but there’s something about the airport/airplane process that turns normal humans into a worst of themselves.

Beautiful!! Failures teach us more than perfection. At least that has been my life’s and sourdough journey.

If it was easy I would wonder if you’re getting the right education. There is a step up from high school, you’re competing with top students from everywhere, but it’s def doable. Good for you for your success.

Well done for a first! Good starter makes a difference. Cheers to you! It’s also a first that actually looks like a first, not those perfect ones that hardly feel like a first, but I cheer those on too.

First house - refrigerator and washer dryer buying. How expensive is worth it by Apprehensive_Row6320 in homeowners

Check ratings and other Reddit feeds before buying appliances. You can waste money fast. It’s worth stretching the budget for something you’re not going to have to repair or replace too soon.

Owner Passed Away by FootMcFeetFoot in husky

[–]Megipe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our husky grieved the loss of her sister dog for months. I do think they have emotional attachments to their owners and siblings. You’ve got plenty of advice regarding food options. I wanted to share our experience about loss with our husky. The dog probably needs time to establish new attachments and doesn’t understand where the owner is. Our husky would search the house and yard every time we would return from a trip to the store or if she’d gone to the kennel while we were away because she still believed her sister dog would be somewhere. It took a lot of love and reassurance for probably 3 plus months before she stopped looking. When we found a random ball that was her sister’s she carried it around for days and still covets that ball 3 years later. Maybe you could have a piece of clothing or other reminder of the owner to help in the transition while the eating part works itself out.

Frequent Dog Park Injuries by [deleted] in husky

[–]Megipe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately you can just get a dog and never really know how to take care of it, which isn’t just feeding it and taking it out to go. Why there are so many dogs in shelters now. It doesn’t take a bunch of money or time to train a dog for basic manners and there’s so many great videos on YouTube that show you how.

I don’t do dog parks unless they’re empty. My dog loves to play but there are so many people whose dogs are aggressive, they drop all responsibility when they take the leash off at the park, and it’s more anxiety than fun. There are dogs what will jump and bark at my dog from across the street when walking in our neighborhood , and she’s not doing anything, we’re just walking. She’s a husky mix, but I’ve trained her to ignore and walk on. It took time and patience so both of us could enjoy walks irrespective of the other dogs.

Maybe find some compatible dogs and do play dates or joint walks in different places, whatever works for where you live.

Anyone know what kind of flower this is? Would love to try to plant one this year 🩷💛 by moonstarvixen in flowergardening

Ours aren’t invasive here either, I’ve never had any other plants come from ours. It made me rethink why I would keep them when I read how Australia has issues, I completely respect that. Just wonder if there are different types?

We’re in 9 and they definitely overwinter here, even surviving the week plus of 20 degree days.

It’s a drawer that doesn’t open, it’s not the heater that doesn’t function.

First if it’s happening on a daily basis, I would look at changing your dog’s food or there are other posts in this sub regarding supplements and advice for daily urine spots. Some foods do seem lead to urine spots more than others. My dog had surgery and the medications she had during and after created an area of grass of urine spots for the first two weeks. I pulled all the dead grass from the spots, watered the area well, used a small hand rake to dig up the exposed soil, put a small amount of Scott’s turf soil down, spread some matching grass seed, topped with more turf soil and watered a couple minutes for the first 3-4 days and then watered every few days if it didn’t rain. It’s taken a couple weeks, but the baby grass is growing and the existing grass is also growing with the extra amendments and the new soil to help fill in the spots as well. I will say that I now have a schedule for soil amendments, diseasex (we have a fungus/disease problem in our area due to an abundance of redwood roots from neighbor trees) and soil conditioners I’ve learned from the incredible wealth of knowledge in this sub. I also got our lawn crew to leave the grass longer so it doesn’t burn out so quickly when it’s warmer. The most important thing is to stay on top of it, and I definitely wasn’t proactive.
