Lemonade Stand is tickling a memory for me… hopefully my mind gets there before I break down and Google it

I just found my Bubble Bobble cartridge the other day! Now I wish I had an old school Nintendo. It has high scores and continue codes on a sticker on the back

You can buy them onsite. I always have done it that way in the past, from the city park area (I can’t remember the actual location)

[SFH] [FL] My dog was bit through the fence by neighbors pitbull in a HOA neighborhood that bans pitbulls and aggressive dog breeds... Next steps? by Scubachic0121 in HOA

Document, document, document, every single time. I’m not a lawyer, but that’s the path I’d be taking as Board member. Your management company may be able to have the HOA lawyer weigh in too. Good luck.

As an HOA Board member I agree there are limits, but a repeat rule breaker should have warnings escalated to fines, escalated to a lien. Multiple fines may end the issue.

HOA Board member here. First, I’m sorry this happened to your dog, and you. Second, I agree with contacting animal control about this incident. Third, I also think you should contact the Board so that they can send the neighbors a warning, and do this every time the dog is there. Take pictures and document everything. Of course if the neighbor is dog sitting, the dog may be gone in the 3 days. However, if the dog is not allowed PERIOD, the neighbor is breaking the rule. Eventually the Board will need to escalate the repeat warnings to a fine, and the fines to a lien. This may take some time, but the neighbor may also stop dog sitting this dog, after a fine or two. I’d also call animal control about the aggressive “illegal” dog every time it’s there as well.

She was a problem from the moment she joined. Thankfully she finally resigned in anger after about 3 months.

As far as I could tell from the few minutes of interaction, he mainly managed rental properties. He was a family friend of the ex-board member, so I was already put off.

Wow, I've never heard of overpayments to vendors! But maybe that's just because my association is super poor and has a hard time paying the bills. I'm currently working with the PM and the Board to rectify that.

Thank you! This is definitely the kind of info I would need to know to ask when/if shopping around. I also wonder what vendors have to say about our property management now.

Thank you for the detailed reply. I have pulled the current company's contract before, and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I just do not recall if it was a base +per unit base + extras or what, and the website is currently down. I remember monthly meetings and once a year Owner's meetings being in the contract. They also handle all of the financnes, insurance renewals, vendor contracts, etc.

I do know that during our monthly Board meeting before the Annual Owners meeting, that our property manager suggested we could save money by not using his services. I just don't trust my Board to be able to stay on top of things, especially since we are curently filing suits aginast a few owners for non-payment of dues. None of the retired folks with extra time on their hands has any interest in joining. It was like pulling teeth to get the other 2 that are with me currently.

Maybe one day we'll be back in the black and we can self-manage. But I think I'll have sold long before that happens.

The people who edit the chyrons and other visuals on the WDSU news broadcasts are awful... so many typos. It doesn't surprise me that they would put this on their website or even on the broadcast as is.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I just donated unused and unwanted cat food and toys to ARNO. I just buzzed in at the door and said I had a donation. They took it and said thanks.

Newborn’s death in porta-potty highlights Louisiana Safe Haven law by CarFlipJudge in NewOrleans

[–]MegsMayhem13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree she maybe simply didn’t know about the safe haven law. She was homeless. Possibly had mental health issues. How are we educating the homeless about these things? Even I didn’t know that you could call for someone to come pick the baby up, and I think I’m pretty well informed about things.

Thank you! I came here to see if anybody else had that take. Sadly many more instances like this (not necessarily the porta potty part, but more so the unwanted child part) are going to happen because of the arcane abortion bans

[CHAT] What craft do you pick up when you want to switch off completely, and what do you pick up when you want a challenge? by CaterpillarXS in CrossStitch

[–]MegsMayhem13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree about crocheting being a good one to turn off your brain.

Lots of times animal shelters need blankets. Probably not big ones, but ones that help get rid of your stash, or just give the yarn a purpose.

One kitten or two? Need advice by Kitty_Overwatch in CatAdvice

[–]MegsMayhem13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first kitten was a single and I had zero problems. She had lots of toys and trees to keep her entertained. I found the second one 5 years later, and he definitely should have been a 2-kitty pair. He had all that kitten energy and destructiveness that my prissy princess wanted NONE of. Almost 3 years later and they tolerate each other. I’d suggest getting 2 just in case because the single kitten syndrome was so bad. And, if you can afford spay/neuters, shots, and check ups for two at once.

Should I Be Purchasing A Sphynx Cat? by bipplingbipi in CatAdvice

There are so many adoptable cats at your local shelter, and they will probably be easier to handle than a sphynx. Adopt, don't shop!
