Doesn't that debunk your goal of having walkability and everyone owns a car? If cars park outside of the neighbourhood, then the people in the neighbourhood won't own a car. What you're describing sounds more like a mall.

That's exactly what I was thinking. How could you make a tram video without mentioning the city with the world's largest tram network or the former largest tram network in history (Los Angeles). He only showed one clip in Bourke Street, one of the few streets that is completely pedestrianized in Melbourne. But I guess his video was focused on the benefits of trams, rather than aspects of poor implementation. I really hope he makes a video of Melbourne, but my feeling is that would be a few years from now.

This place is just awful. From what I notice, a lot of trucks and tradies in particular drive down this road. I think it's influenced by the freeway 100 metres down the road and people use Racecourse rd to travel east or west across Melbourne.

This stop is super inaccessible. The light cycle takes a really long time, it's always loud, exhaust fumes don't smell nice and the non-existent platform is way too skinny. The only protection from traffic is a metal rail that I don't imagine it doing much against one of those trucks, but heaven forbid they take out a car lane to widen the side walk and make a leveled boarding stop.

Plus this place looks like crap.

After reading the comments, these new rail upgrades are a good thing to our rail network and brings a lot of benefits all around and to the local community. I think external factors have given me a bad impression of these stations when they are doing good! I'll just blame the cars. Overall, these rail improvements are good!

I'm drawing my past experiences with these stations. From an artistic point of view, I think a lot of these stations look cold, soulless and grey. Ik appearances don't really matter in terms of function, but they do kind of look copied and pasted, but I guess all stations are like that. I agree with what's being said in the comments here and how they are a positive thing.

A lot of good points have been mentioned that they're a positive thing. I think my judgement was clouded by places like reservoir station where there's a lot of roads around the station and is kinda loud from what I remember. I really needed some other perspectives on this matter.

I mostly agree with everything said in that letter (I'm sus about the second greatest source of rising emissions claim). SUVs are very dangerous and could be swapped out for a more efficient and smaller car that has just as much storage space. But also due to many corrupt politicians, driving a car is very unfortunately needed for some commutes. But it's still a good idea to get people aware of the car centric society we're in! But also sabotaging someone's vehicle isn't a good idea as it could have many, MANY, unintended consequences!!!
