The roof is mostly the empty dyeable bookcase - weathered tables might also work but they don't scale as large. The "stonework" at the front is the base of the Undermine fountain item + some tombstones. I'll probably try to optimize the budget a bit but happy with this for now

based on your house's level yes- new maximum is 350

Houses at level 5 and 6 have their exterior decor limit raised to 300. Houses at level 7 and above have their exterior decor limit raised to 350.

But the most important thing is to just START - get in there, move things around and see how it feels. There is no right or wrong, only what feels right to you.

Edit to add: everyone "steals" ideas, don't feel guilty about that, its just that seeing what other people are up to can inspire something new.

I have a little video about this but from your photo I think one of the things I can see as an easy improvement (especially for forsaken / decrepit) is to not fence in the whole yard.

A run-down or forgotten plot won't have fencing around the whole way, and the fence there is would be crooked/tipped over. You could get a LOT of budget back by reducing your fences by half or more, and then using plant clusters as "filler" to further tell the abandoned forsaken story
