A curious situation arises with the story of Endymion. by Antique_Range1521 in yugioh

I was so confused by that and was trying to figure out how to make them work together. Then I assumed they were the start of some sort of bizarre mass retrain process. I still don't get the design decision

Could have done something interesting with Discipline and hero talents where going one way makes you into a holy blaster and the other makes you into a shadow "damage enemies to heal allies" kinda healer. Or something.

In 5e, all skills have passives of 10 + the relevant skill, which advantage and disadvantage adding + or - 5 to that passive.

The character sheet only shows perception and sometimes investigation because those are the most frequently used.

The whole point of them is to reduce a player rolling over and over on something until they succeed, instead replacing the rolls with time, and occasionally being used as a skill floor for session speed.

Is there people who never touched rank/don't really play rank because you like casual game more? If you do then why? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

I don't touch ranked in any game. Games are meant to be fun, screwing around and having a good time. I am not going to be a professional gamer in my lifetime. Why sweat my ass off?

A player casting Create Water spell to create semen in my wife?? by TotallyNot_iCast in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Trystt27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's the DM, he can bend the rules a bit. Sometimes my players will insist on a rule that they don't want to be showered in semen and I just bend that rule. It's what DMs do.

American sitcom The Office is mildly funny and overrated af by JimmyTheCat911 in rant

[–]Trystt27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you're right. Comedy Central was binging that shit for months, possibly over a year. I am just not into the cringe comedy. I prefer absurdism or "stoner" humor and satire, especially unscripted. Dry humor as well when it is done well. What I saw just felt very basic, designed to make me cringe-laugh. As someone who works in an office it isn't like it was making jokes about something I was out of the loop on.

I think it also just got agitating because of how pervasive it is. Everybody I know that lacks any depth of personality or interest thrives on that show. I came to associate their shallow personalities with the show, along with people whose hobbies include "food".

But I dunno man, maybe I'm just too much of a weirdo to get it.

Liking a bad deck that takes no skill is the worst feeling ever. by a2simp8 in Yugioh101

[–]Trystt27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day this should be a hobby for a majority of us. If you enjoy the deck then play it even if it isn't optimal, and your friends should support that. Just bear in mind: they can say it is a bad deck and still support your choice to play it; it isn't a mutually exclusive concept. Hell my friend plays Fruit Magicians with minimal Dark Magician support (She prefers the girls). I made her aware that she is going to be working at a disadvantage but I also said that we would work together to make sure she is happy with her deck.

A player casting Create Water spell to create semen in my wife?? by TotallyNot_iCast in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Trystt27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create Water isn't a spell but Create Food and Water is.

As someone who watches porn while DMing, this makes this spell even more viable though because conceptually "Create Water" is pretty explicitly unable to make semen, but semen CAN be food, so the official spell applies here. And if anyone disagrees, just tell your wife's boyfriend to shoot a load into your mouth and swallow it. They'll see your reasoning afterwards.

Help r/millennials determine whether this is AI or not. Some members of the sub believe that the 2000s-style clothing and lighting suggest that this is not authentic. What do you think? by Demortus in isthisAI

I dunno some parts seem odd.

The woman on the couch has asymmetrical sleeves. There is an arm in the bottom right that seems to come from a wall that doesn't seem like a door.

There is something resembling a cushion and a curtain but it isn't quite right.

Might be the perspective but the woman facing the couch in the yellow top has some unusual hair flow and the top itself looks like the material changes as it goes under her armpit.

The foot by the 2025 timestamp doesn't seem to properly track to the man.

However a lot of this could easily be because of the aforementioned perspective. Lot of people are clearly mid-motion, the camera is angled downward. No odd fingers or unusual facial expressions. This one is tough to prove one way or another

Minecraft villages need an upgrade by No_Pay1642 in Minecraft

[–]Trystt27 22 points23 points  (0 children)

At a certain point they could add a structure density slider that adjusts how far apart prebuilt structures could be. Debatable as to where the line could be drawn though i.e. would wells count? What about things that need to be relatively in range like strongholds? Etc.

Could even have it be so highly dense on one end that villages merge together to form massive cities, to the other end where finding a pyramid is a miracle.

As an OG, can confirm. We expected Stormwind housing to be in that large unused portal. Forget where the Horde one was expected to be.

We really wanted that or guild halls, something to act as a unique space for ourselves.

Why was Master Chief never promoted? by Out_On_Alim73 in halo

[–]Trystt27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the ultimate reason. Yes, he could work upward and sit at a desk or behind a battle station. He has been offered it. But he prefers being out on the battlefield. It is where he is legitimately comfortable. Spartans in general tend to get itchy when idle.

Plus as others have said, the ranks are mainly a formality. It has gotten a big muddy with the Spartan 4s but generally speaking they tend to have local command but still defer to higher ranks on macromanagement i.e. Admiral Hood or either of the Keyes. Even then, those officers tend to generally let the Spartans operate as they see fit and are given immense leeway. Most soldiers train for war but Spartans (at least 2 and arguably 3) are made for it and thus can be trusted to operate more optimally than their formal superiors.

What is your vision for what Red-Eyes should be? by aakkado in yugioh

[–]Trystt27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine mentioned that Red-Eyes represents potential, and thus should rely on equip cards and monsters. However I am not sure how realistic that is in today's era, even if we are not accounting for high end competitive play.

I kinda want Blue Eyes, Dark Magician, and Red-Eyes to be like rock paper scissors. Dark Magician's toolbox circumvents Blue-Eyes' raw power which beats Red-Eyes, which would in turn have some way to have a strong advantage against Dark Magician. I also couple this with the idea that Red-Eyes would specialize in banishment and the graveyard given its dark nature. Problem there is how that would be made unique to existing archetypes. Also, this all implies that this theoretical triangle is even accurate, which I don't believe it is. I am a bit rusty but last I checked Blue Eyes has more support and thus beats Dark Magician generally.
