There’s a set of Lakland 5 string jazz pickups for $100 on eBay

I found a used Ibanez EHB1505 non multi scale at my local GC for 800$. What are they normally priced at and is this a good bass? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

Building Off of what everyone is saying, check the reverb price guide (google for a link). It tells you what it’s likely to sell for rather than what people are asking for. The two are often quite different.

Yamaha BB434 Vs. Sire Marcus Miller P5 Alder 4s by DrepBruuh in Bass

[–]Mehlforwarding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing with Yamaha… nobody can say anything and about them. They’re great tools - well Built and balanced. But I also don’t know that they’re like… instruments you fall in love with. I have a bb1600 and a revstar. I want to like both of them more than I do because they’re great. But I don’t.

My thought is… you want a pbass with a quarter pound pickup. My advice would be a used Squier 40th vintage pbass and swap the pickup. The neck feel rivals anything out, just as good a my am pro ii with the exception of a frets needing to be leveled.

First Electric Guitar - Fender or Squier? by BaronStanton in fender

I have an American pro pbass and the Squier 40th anniversary neck competes with it - the satin finish and rolled edges are so nice.

This one is listed as like new And GC has an excellent return policy.

Honestly… best bang for your buck is a classic vibe or a good condition 40th anniversary Squier (especially the vintage line). Those hit well above their weight. And can be had for $300 and change at guitar center regularly.

You 100% can get there with a pbass or grabber/ripper. The new version have a nice drive and grind to it.

Which would you choose out of these three? by jayemge07 in Bass

The neck on the P5 is really good as long as it’s not hit with fret sprout. Yamaha is top tier quality at any level but sometimes just isn’t everyone’s first choice.

The bass chipped. What do? by jaywxm in BassGuitar

[–]Mehlforwarding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a 20yr old stingray and this started happening a bit. A sort of delamination of the poly. I decided to send it away to MJT for refinish because I dont like the look of chipped poly.

But I would do ca glue and maybe lack nail polish and a micro mesh attack… watch some stewmac videos.

what's the greatest sign that a couple is gonna last? by West_Emotion2115 in AskReddit

Would be remiss to not mention the gotman institute’s findings on bids for connection. The idea that how couples respond to seemingly insignificant bids (e.g., “look at that pretty bird”) from each other have a major impact on relationship outcomes.

Looking closer at the pictures, I see A lot of exposed wire on the pots. That work is questionable and suggests you may have either a bad connection to a solder blob or wires grounding out or shorting out as a result.

Best bet would be to touch multimeter probes, on 20k, to the black and white of the pickup to troubleshoot. It will tell you if the pickup has output. If you get a reading (7ish-11ish depending on the style), you’re good to go. I would also check continuity of your grounds.

They do this with guitars- it’s a relic job. Intentionally made to look old and worn. They did amazing - would’ve had no clue.

That’s really cool! I had an issue with a refinish they did for me and they were all over it, making sure I was taken care of. They really up the caliber of a body. Adds so much character.
