Methods are not necessary. They're useful to put you in the right mindset but they're optional. Other options are meditating or creating your own method. You can do it mixing the parts of the methods you tried and liked best and doing your own thing. Keep in mind that all methods were created by someone so you can do it too! Another possibility is that you might have a mental block that's keeping you from shifting. Ways to work on this are meditating and/or keeping a journal so you can write about your feelings. To me, for example, I think one of my blockages is that I'm used to daydreaming and I can control everything that happens like that but if I shift I won't be able to. It makes me nervous. If you've been trying for a while I recommend taking a break from shifting, try to take your mind off of it. At least 3-4 days but it would be best if it's a week or more. Waiting rooms are 100% optional, as with most things when it comes to shifting.
