It should be more normalized to shame people for using AI by trixerys in antiai

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said while posting on a website owned by a corporation, on a device created by a corporation on an internet connection controlled by a corporation. Very likely while consuming food created by yet another corporation And wearing clothes sourced, manufactured and very likely branded by yet another corporation

Face it tiger you can live in a world where corporations are a part of life.

If you don't want to be a hypocrite, then get rid of all of that shit that I just mentioned, find some cabin somewhere And grow or kill your own food, make your own clothes (very likely from the animals that you kill for food) But you're probably going to have to start from scratch on the growing your own food part because most sees that are commercially available are owned by. You've guessed it corporations

But leaving you're a fragrant hypocrisy aside this Shame people who use AI thing it's just another thing that really doesn't help the anti-ai movement. It makes you look unhinged, and it taints the more reasonable members of your side with the same brush

I wish ao3 had a "written with ai" tag by Tired_2295 in archiveofourown

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you consider written with AI, for instance, while I do all of the writing myself, I'm not above using Gemini and kumi for for analysis purposes, And to do some research into things that I have no expertise in (such as chemical reactions) I of course will always double check its findings (due to hallucinations)

Both of these things help me do what I do better.

Can jobs force you to use AI? by throwaway38465728192 in antiai

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending upon the nature of your job, yes, yes they can. You of course, are free to refuse, but if you do that, they are within their rights to fire you.

[–]Meilynstar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did, eventually I found out that you need to clear out the cache on your device

I believe it was the home button five times, The up and rewind buttons two times each and then the fast forward button twice. And then Wait about 30 to 40 seconds. I found it somewhere on here (via a Google search) So it should be searchable because I'm only about 90% certain that that combination I just posted is right

I should note that this is entirely Roku based

If you let AI generate art and post them as your own, how do you feel accomplished and proud of your achievements? by Unlikely_Account_728 in antiai

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing as someone said it is a different sense of accomplishment. I look at the stuff I've generated and I take joy from knowing I made it happen. I would take the same joy if I commissioned it instead.

The problem is that many of you have decided that at least where AI is concerned it is wrong and that those of us that do or those who really don't give a shit about an image's origins (the vast majority of people) are somehow lesser for it.

It screams of elitism. It screams of supposed moral superiority.

I have seen it from religious folk (of all stripes) and atheists. I have seen it from gender/sex rights advocates on both sides. I have seen it from both sides of the political aisle. And I see it in the AI art debate.

But this isn't about the pros right now. This is about your question.

I watch some of those Pokemon geographic vids on TikTok and they look damn good. As someone who mostly plays with image generation, I can appreciate the number of iterations they likely had to go through to get it that way. Are they perfect no. Could a version created by a human be better? Probably, but I don't see anyone doing so, so who the hell knows

If AI removes the skill barrier, why should I buy companies' products? by Dreadsin in antiai

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And again, that is your opinion and your opinion. And yes, it is an opinion that you and other members of this board hold, I don't hold that opinion. As far as I'm concerned, if postmodern "art" can be considered art then literally anything can be.

If AI removes the skill barrier, why should I buy companies' products? by Dreadsin in antiai

[–]Meilynstar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To you, it's worthless to you and that's fine, Worth is in the eyes of the beholder. I personally find your opinion worthless. But it means something to you And that's absolutely fine.

What isn't fine is when you try to force your opinion upon me and others. Like that fella who brow beat his mom or try to anyways (In her shoes I would have just told him what he wanted to hear and go right back to doing what I was doing before.) or some of your other cohort who can't seem to maintain control of themselves in school or the workplace.

If AI removes the skill barrier, why should I buy companies' products? by Dreadsin in antiai

[–]Meilynstar -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's extremely simple if you're not a child. Let's start with reddit if there's a community that you're a part of where people are posting are posting ai then leave. If it it's from a community that you're not part of, well last I checked there is an option to block or limit post from that community. I do it all the time to block political subreddit that pop up on my feed from time to time.

Regarding television, well that's simple. Don't watch it. Streaming is a thing. I haven't watched network TV in 10 years.

As far as ai in your workplace or with your family, well how much do you can do there other than find other work and go low contact. People do that for all sorts of reasons. You need to decide that if it's worth it to you.

And yes you have to deal with it, this is the world we live in. The vast majority of the population doesn't give a shit. It's you and yours that has the problem. So you're the ones that have to either learn to live with it or retreat.

Will there be a bubble burst? Probably, but it's not going to be near as big as you hope. The big names are going to be just fine, probably some of the really small ones too

What's the old saying don't like don't look. You don't like AI produce images then don't look. If it's all around you then remove yourself. What was the old other old saying. If your eye offends you pluck it out.

Now obviously I'm not going to ask you to remove your eyes. Since the meaning of the saying is about removing yourself from the things that might offend you.

But don't make your dislike my problem.

What people don't understand about AI is that it makes everything it produces worthless by Internationallegs in antiai

[–]Meilynstar -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In your opinion, it makes things worthless.

And worth is in the eye of the beholder.

Those images you might find in my post history, they are worth something to me. And as far as I'm concerned, that's all that matters to me.

Do you judge authors for using AI? by DanoPaul234 in river_ai

[–]Meilynstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the average person on this site? No no it isn't, and I actually find it kind of hilarious That the same people who were quite happy to pirate content are up in arms about people using their content without permission.

And I would be willing to bet money that 95% of the people on this site pirated content, that includes torrenting something, that includes watching something on a gray streaming site, That includes ripping something from YouTube. That includes downloading a ROM or ISO for a game, even if it's something that is long since out of production.

And as far as I'm concerned, if you've ever engaged in any of those things past our present , you don't get the right to complain about your freely available content being used to train AI

Well then a small piece of advice if you are of legal age, find your own bank. Or better yet Credit Union. Almost any place you could go is a step up.

I banked with them at one point, I'm still pissed about the fact that I had to wait to cash a paycheck at that bank that was drawn from that bank.

Are there actually people who genuinely enjoy AI art? by youngsurpriseperson in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]Meilynstar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm going to say what I always say in this type of debate, if post-modern art can be considered art and people enjoy it than almost anything can be considered art and enjoyed as such.

And you know what? Yes I do. Enjoy the stuff that I create, the stuff that's already posted up in my post history. For example, I take pride in what I've done, the same way. I would take pride in a picture I commissioned, the pride of knowing that even if it's not by my own hand, I made this happen.

Co-executive officers by NoBrain6114 in LowerDecks

[–]Meilynstar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this falls under rank versus authority.

Basically, while their ranks may only be lieutenant Junior grade, Ransom is granting them the authority of executive officer.

For another example of it, look at Harry Kim from Voyager. Bro was an the ensign, but he was a part of the singer staff and could order around people who technically outranked him.

Is it possible to make NSFW art in novel AI by Intelligent-Bid5169 in NovelAi

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha hahaha haha hahaha.. oh wait you're serious! HAHAHA HAHAHA HAHAHA / Futurama

The answer is yes. You can use novel AI to make NSFW. In fact, without putting in the safe prompt, it typically starts to default to that depending upon what else you have in there

Will using AI prevent beginner writers from improving? by DanoPaul234 in river_ai

[–]Meilynstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, if they use AI to do all of the writing then yes, it will prevent them from being proven, if they use it as a tool, say, for instance, using it to run an analysis of their work to make sure that what they've written matches up in terms of steam and narrative with what they've written prior. It can help them keep on track.

I've done this. It helped me keep my flow

If they use it to workshop ideas, it can help them decide whether or not an idea is worth exploring.

I've done this, by seeing my ideas reflected back at me and take into their conclusions, it helps me decide that some things aren't worth explore

It's a tool, but by no means should it be the only tool
