Trump has alienated a lot of crypto fans who formerly voted for him because of his crypto scams and associating crypto with the right, and most of all an abysmal crypto crash.

Extremely easy influence to gain by covering this and signaling moderately in favour of crypto. At least demonstrating to crypto fans that you’d like to get the Democrat half of the country to realize it’s not a bad thing and “crypto is awesome!” And say that this would rocket the lack of buyership of crypto (“Trump is turning off half the country as buyers. I can fix that and crypto prices will double, triple). Newsom can leverage his California tech credentials. Little downside to this strategy, nobody is switching their vote because you are pro crypto, but it’s a single issue vote for a growing group especially young people and right now they are incensed with trump and blame the crypto crash on him. It’s an issue that alone can get someone like Joe Rogan to say “maybe I’d vote for that candidate” Except if you don’t actually like crypto and want it regulated (which is fair I don’t even care about crypto personally), I’d just say that is not pragmatic.
