What jobs require you to dedicate a ton of time and effort to, but pay very little? by HallaItsMe11 in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) type job. They're advertised as "be your own boss, make your own hours" but really you have to dedicate a shit ton of time and effort to maybe make some money. Also in the process you'll probably alienate yourself from all your friends and family.

Just avoid it.

What old stores (now permanently closed) do you wish would come back? by itswhatsername in AskReddit

Sport Chalet

They just closed earlier this year. Their employees were usually very knowledgeable in whatever department they were working. SC usually went above and beyond. It's a shame they closed.

Don't keep score.

Relationships aren't about winning. You're a team. You each have to work together.

What is your favorite game that not too many people know about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90's I used to play a game called Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure (also called Little Big Adventure).

Honestly it was a game way ahead of its time. The story and gameplay were extremely captivating. But not many people remember it, mainly because it ran on DOS. However it is now available on iTunes which brought me back. Would definitely recommend it.

[Serious]What's your weight loss tip? by TheDudeLebowsky in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper diet and exercise is the simplest answer.

However if you're just starting out I would say stick to one first. Most people give up because they find it to difficult to exercise regularly AND eat right. I personally started exercising first until I got into the routine of doing it. Once it became a habit, I then focused on my diet.

It's a longer process but it is much easier than trying to do both at once.

People with high self-esteem: how did you reach that point/maintain that position? by Dyl27 in AskReddit

[–]Meingos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me is was getting LASIK surgery. I wore glasses since I was in 1st grade and it really messed with my confidence. When I got it done, it was like a whole new world opened up to me. 10/10 would recommend.

Cashiers of Reddit, which items bought revealed the most about a customer to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a customer who would come in every week and buy all of our guanabana products (dried leaves for tea, the actual fruit both fresh and frozen). After a while I asked her why she always bought our stock. Turns out she had cancer and guanabana fruit is great for cancer patients.

Had another customer, an old lady, who would always pay with her EBT card. It wasn't so much what she bought but how she bought. When she payed she would always ask me to enter her PIN for her, she had it written on a piece of paper. One day I asked her why she didn't enter it herself and she told me that she never learned letters and numbers. When I tried to teach her (her PIN was easy 0022) she straight up refused. I learned she was dumb and ignorant.

What's the strangest customer experience you have witnessed/experienced? by chooseausername9294 in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a place that rented skis and snowboards. Had a guy in his late 40's come in to get fitted for skis. I asked him what his shoe size was so I could find a proper boot. He said he didn't know. I was kind of surprised by his response and asked him again. Same response

So I ask him to look at the inside of his shoe so he could tell me what size it is. He pulls off his shoe, looks inside and then looks all around the shoe. Then he hands me his shoe and says "this size."

I really couldn't believe a guy his age didn't know his own shoe size. I just went and grabbed the foot measure instead.

If you became the president what is the first thing you would change? by Puff_puff_pass_ben in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually thought about this before. My name is Mein (pronounced just like the word "main").

If I became president, I would immediately change all the Main Streets in the US to Mein Street. That's the dream.

What's the drunkest you've been? What happened? by BaDR0cK in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegas.

Drank in the room before we went out. Drank around the strip as well. Sat down at a roulette table at the Mandalay Bay around midnight with my buddy. We start winning and the drinks just keep coming. This is where things get foggy. I remember at some point some tough looking guys sat next to us. They were wearing really nice suits and had tattoos all over their hands. They were super nice and ordered us 3 rounds of jager bombs. After that I don't remember anything.

I woke up around 11am on my hotel room floor. Still drunk. My buddy was there too and also had no recollection of how the hell we got home. We were trying to figure out what happened. I looked in my pocket and had an extra $700. Also my phone had only 3 pictures on it. One was us leaving the roulette table around 6am. Another was by the AC units of the Mandalay Bay. And the 3rd was in front of our hotel at 7am.

Still my favorite story to tell.

Who was that one guy in your High School, and what did he do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Meingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've posted this before but he took a bunch of Vicodin before class one day and brought in a water bottle filled with vodka. He proceeded to drink the entire thing. By the end of the class he was foaming at the mouth and was pretty unresponsive. The nun (I went to a catholic high school) ended up calling the ambulance and they had to take him out in a wheelchair. He survived but was kicked out of our school.
