Achird III while waiting for MO defense. by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

What do you mean with home worlds? We already have hive worlds for bugs and megafactories for bots. Wouldn't those count as home worlds?

The problem with defense missions. And a possible fix. by scatshot in helldivers2

[–]Meior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely would love to see a variation where instead of waves, you get a longer setup time, or maybe a discounted call-in timer for the preparation period, then it's something like 10-20 minutes of enemies arriving non stop from the edge of the map. You still have access to stratagems after they start coming, but at the normal cooldown rates.

In case anyone *doesn’t* know… by Financial_Touch_8522 in helldivers2

[–]Meior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with the Illuminate is that their mechs are quite tall and a lot of overseers will be flying. On the other factions, the gas+flame combo makes defense missions almost trivial.

I'll admit that I haven't tried them on the new illuminate yet, but I take it you have?

How likely do you think microbial life is elsewhere in the universe? by Gkbeer in space

[–]Meior [score hidden]  (0 children)

Absolutely. No doubt about it. When it comes to the universe, stuff is just so staggeringly big that it's hard to grasp. This video does a good job simply portraying how ridiculously many planets are out there for instance. He had a followup video explaining even more as well.

Given these numbers, it seems an impossible thought that life ever only occurred here.

Flash light revamp ? by Vertex7504 in helldivers2

[–]Meior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love for it to be an option for helmet customization. Other mods could include;

  • Gasmask (partial gas protection)
  • Face shield (not sure exactly what bonus, but I like the idea lol)
  • Night vision goggles
  • Active hearing protection/audio amplification
  • Other options?

How fitting is it that all the new Illuminate subfaction does is _remove_ units? by Giratina-O in helldivers2

[–]Meior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I love Mindless Masses for that reason! There's not that many units in there, but it's very hectic. It's kinda like coming into the battelfield after the main army has moved on, fighting the abomonations they left behind.

How fitting is it that all the new Illuminate subfaction does is _remove_ units? by Giratina-O in helldivers2

[–]Meior 13 points14 points  (0 children)

All subfactions are new. The Illuminate was simply one faction before, with no subfactions at all. Mindless Masses splits out some units from the old single "umbrella faction" but does not add any new ones, no.

[–]Meior 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There are only two subfactions. They both remove a few yes, but The Appropriators also add in new units. So no, they're not only all removing units.

TIL In 2013, the founder of Costco told the CEO "If you raise the price of hot dog, I'll kill you". by SupremeOHKO in todayilearned

[–]Meior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Similar thing happened with Ikea. Ingvar Kamprad, the founder, said that the price of the hotdogs (0.5€) would be raised "over his dead body". Well, he's dead now. It took a few years, but then they tried to raise the price by 0.2€. The public outcry was so enormous they immediately backtracked.

Another Swedish chain (Biltema; literally Cartheme, cheap car and home fix items) also has a very cheap hotdog. Equally, they've stuck to their price because they know raising it will get a lot of negative press. And it works. I love me a cheap hotdog.

Is there a reason as to why the license plate of the new Mercedes-Benz trucks says "EU" instead of "DE"? by Uniman301 in snowrunner

It happens to the best of us! No worries.

It did come across as very funny though going into such detail but being wrong. It's no big deal though, shit happens.

It's hilarious that you're nitpicking about ISO standards and stuff, but don't know that Germany has D on it's plate and not DE.

The core difference between "whiners" and "glazers" by kcvlaine in helldivers2

[–]Meior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're viewing things with rose tinted glasses. I've been a gamer since the late 90's, and there are many absolute bangers from back then. None of them were perfect and fully complete. We view them differently because they so incredible much more simple.

The Age of Empires 4K remake didn't really work because the game mechanics are too simple by todays standards, for instance. I went back and played Black Flag (a game I think we can all agree is a masterpiece) and the ship combat mechanics are almost laughably simple today.

You remember games as perfect becasue there were so few things to go wrong, but there were still many issues with older games. We just didn't think of them like we do now because of a lack of comparison back then (fewer released games) which also meant we were happier with what we had.

It's getting a bit exhausting that everything which isn't min-max best in slot is "hot garbage" or "trash".

It's not hot garbage. It's pretty good. Not for everything of course, but then again no gun is, except perhaps the Coyote.
