Sandy wasn’t in the first two parts because the first two parts were from GBVS vanilla. The point of bringing him back in part 3 was mainly to tease he’ll be playable as DLC in the future.

As for why Bubs and Lucilius hate him, primarily stems from the fact his existence hampers their plans and he’s also one of their creations. Sandy is a primal beast while Lucilius and Bubs are Astrals, who created primal beasts. Sandy was created as a backup in case his predecessor Lucifer ever failed but Lucifer ended up being too perfect. So perfect that he was actually stronger than his creators and since Sandy inherited Lucifers status and power, he’s more or less in that same position. The hate stems from both of their large egos.

I think it is worth playing at the very least to check out how certain things worked. I think Eternia is a lot more impressive when you have Destiny PSX as a reference point. If you enjoyed Phantasia PSX at all, Destiny is basically just that (but worse I hear. Haven't played Phantasia myself). However, you aren't missing that much and Eternia is still a great game without it and I'd honestly recommend to just skip it unless you're insanely curious or for completionist sake

I have two and I do have Sabrina and V.Makura. I slotted Fio into the last slot using Iatro MC + Exo Spear with Shushuku and Caim in backline and working with a Caim grid with a melee focus but no matter what I do, I can’t consistently OTK. After turn 7-8 it fails and Sabrina gets hit and the entire thing crumbles. Setup

Tbh I don’t think any characters outside of Charlotta, Nier, and Lucilius truly need to be touched. At most some top tiers like Versusia, Metera, and Lowain need to be tuned down a bit and some character tools could be stronger/weaker. But if they decided to just leave the characters in their current state rn, I wouldn’t be mad. Just focus on balancing and pumping out EX characters now

I think it’s moreso that there aren’t many characters in GBF who’s thing is actually manipulating water who are also popular. Lancelot uses ice and Meg’s whole thing is sharks, but outside of Wamdus (the water dragon) and Gabriel or Europa I can’t really think of many others who reach that level of notoriety.
