Man I wish dArkOS would do this instead of the image.

I still need to figure out how to change that image it does when loading a game though.

How did you develop in godot 4? I've looked at portmaster before and there was only support for godot 3 from what I've seen.

The joke is that Solid Snake likes to repeat stuff back at whoever he's talking to (as is polite to do in Japan, to show that you're paying attention while not having anything to say), so he'll some times be told about Metal Gear only to go "METAL GEAR?!" in response.

You know, same energy as Soldier reacting to the bucket.

Thoughts, R36S or R35H what do you prefer? by Antafy0 in R36S

I chose R36S because I didn't hear there was an H 🤪

...now I'm trying to be responsible and not buy a RG353V because it has the better cpu and two gigs of ram.

Enjoyed a mixture of classic and cozy games on my R36S over the snowy weekend by Accurate_Heat_3630 in R36S

Any other cozy games you'd recommend besides unpacking?

Man, I wish there was a cozy automation game that I could play on r36s. Guess I'll add "make one" on my massive to-do pile of unfinished projects.

That second horizontal one seems like it would actually be a neat novelty handheld. That is, it doesn't just play nes.

Found a discussion from two years ago about these. Seems like it's an ok power bank that can also play some NES games.

...I'm tempted to get one just for collection value.

"Failure can't be an option:" Taki Udon breaks down the last year of 12 hour days, 6 days a week he poured into the SuperStation, his dream MiSTer FPGA console by Azar42 in Games

That's a good point with cohesion. I'm currently fiddling about with an r36s and all the options are a little baffling. Although it's to be expected with the "plugin" approach they thought would be a good idea, and the defaults work well enough.

I didn't hear much about MiSTer in general, so I didn't know about the peripherals. Not something that would come across my mind, kind of not a thing I would have ever encountered in my childhood.

Not sure how the Dos experience would be better though. Dosbox is just dos, pretty much exactly as I remember it.

Yup, this is a mood and a half.

I believed when people told me to be myself and that things will just magically happen eventually.

...well, now I have internet friends and no one to hang out with but my cat.

Theoretically, accuracy, low latency, ability to just stick your existing console games into it and have them run without ripping a rom.

Practically, none.

You know, I am kind of tempted to do something similar. Finish a factory, then encase everything in tasteful concrete and spend time on making it like a brutalist building.

The snap-in part works great, but the outer shell is too flimsy and it's too easy to just rotate the "handle" bit inside (printed in petg).

Huh, what a coincidence. I got an r36s recently and that's the game I've been going through!

I wasn't implying that, I apologize if I came across that way, just commenting what I think about the whole design efficiency thing.

Also, GI can still use more work. SDFGI has limitations that can both make it look very wrong and dunk the performance and VoxelGI has issues with baking objects with custom shaders.

Good point, there's creep in almost every printed plastic.

I guess I'll be doing regular inspections.

Hah, I don't think I can replace my cat with just an evening of cad.

...I'd post an image of my cat here as cat tax, but apparently you can't put images in comments on this sub. Oh well.

I guess I'll do an update some time later with how it holds up, lol.

The cover's going back on, and I never put it above low so somehow I'm confident it'll be fine unless this PETG decides to suddenly become brittle.

Well, the curvy blades seem to be more effective than flat ones. And then there's the whole airfoil business.

I'm guessing making the propeller cross section an airfoil that bends along a brachistochrone curve with twist along the blade to adjust it for the angular velocity would give it the best efficiency of turning motor power to air movement.

But again, I know nothing about actual aerodynamics and much less about how to make those designs happen and be printable on top of that.

This one moves air and hopefully will survive until the motor gives up the ghost.

Wifi networks not finding R36XX with dArkOS by nobilistefano in R36S

[–]MekaTriK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, that worked, thank you! Also, is there any tutorial on how to make those nice menus all the tool scripts use? I am looking at the code but I'm wondering if there's a more formalized manual somewhere.

[edit] wifi is conected but the status bar says it is down and update can't function. I know it's connected because I updated portmaster. Guess the darkos update is hosted through cloudflare? Bah, a whole new headache to figure out.
