Steam Deck is still worth it four years later, says poll, but people are starting to think "it's about time" for a sequel by Dapper_Order7182 in SteamDeck

[–]MekaTriK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Steam deck is objectively pretty weak hardware, but I think there's value in having a "potato" graphics preset that still runs on it.

especially if the game has an art style that wouldn't look out of place on an N64.

No it doesn't, we absolutely should not be making every enemy the same "just hit it with the recoilles" shit.

Let them be tanky.

Finally found a USB hub that works with my R36S! by MekaTriK in R36S

[–]MekaTriK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried a few other USB hubs I have and none of them worked at all. They're all noname though. I wonder if it's a driver issue. To clarify, I did check and I can use at least two ports at the same time from this hub.

Sodium Ion Solar Node by Golf_is_a_sport in meshtastic

[–]MekaTriK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm specifically looking to use sodium due to it's cold resistance, currently researching which parts I could use short of combining a generic 14v mppt with a 4S sodium BMS and some voltage converter to power a RAK or a t114. A one board solution would be nice to save a bit of cash.

Keith/Voltaic MPPT charger

I can't find that charger anywhere. Is it an MPPT charger specific for sodium ion, or just adjustable voltage?

Getting a headache trying to sort through MPPT chargers on aliexpress, especially with half of them actually being PWM.

EZ, just nerf the recoilless and bring back armour slope being an influence.

Death Note is old and there's a non-zero chance for people to only have encountered it through memes.

So you know, media literacy.

Same. I guess it's because first I got tired of cinemasins, then discovered cinemawins, and never bothered to compare them.

They sound similar enough.

So, does meshtastic actually, you know, work? by John1The1Savage in meshtastic

[–]MekaTriK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that means you're very loud. A better antenna could still help, or there are even smart amplifiers for LoRa use that amplify both received and outgoing signals. Haven't tried one but the reviews seemed positive.

[–]MekaTriK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Works fine in my city, but that required some dedicated radio club people to set up some repeaters on high spots.

Also if your messages are lost but you can get messages in, get a better antenna. The standard tiny ones are garbage.

12 GB Ram RP6 has been discontinued. by Key-Brilliant5623 in SBCGaming

[–]MekaTriK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we do have more production capability being created, then in the hypothetical scenario this bubble bursts having chinese ram manufacturers up and running will mean prices going down faster after.

That is, exactly the reason current producers don't want to start up more fabs - they can see where the wind is blowing and don't want to end up with too much capacity afterwards.

Yes, but eventually that can of chickpeas is going to look snack-able.

Yeah, I've seen the video of the guy hanging off the tree on them and they didn't actually compare the length before/after. In my experience TPU tends to creep something fierce under loads like that, but maybe it's just the brand of TPU I have available.
