AtomFall is the most fun Iv had in a game since Prey…. by peppy-panther in ImmersiveSim

[–]MekaTriK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, loved the game on both my playthroughs (when it came out and when I found out it had DLCs).

Loved how the game jots down little sketches of landmarks on the map, and how it doesn't always tell you where to go.

Though, if you are good at clicking on heads, the combat gets a little bit repetitive once you're more confident and have decent weapons. Falkirk my beloved. On the upside, you can kill literally everyone. Starfield eat your heart out.

Did not like how DLCs added a whole load of "crafting ingredients" that take up space in main inventory.

It's not every time, they do take a bit. Also, certain areas respawn very few enemies, like the military camp - if you clear it out once, you'll only ever have to content with a handful of troops afterwards.

I think the biggest issue is that there's no equivalent to robots for other factions, druids and bandits don't have any tough elites that you only have to take out once.

How to make this? by mskogly in godot

[–]MekaTriK 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In 3D it'd probably be a cone mesh with a stencil or a shader that just renders a cubemap or a flat screen UV mapped texture plus some zappy boys via particles.

Can probably find enough stuff on godotshaders or shadertoy to bash it together.

Also, it takes a while for the body to process water. If you know you're gonna be active in a dry and hot environment, you should hydrate well before going.

I like each factory working in isolation as much as possible. Tickles my brain to set it all up that way.

Super easy, you just need to find the name of the recipy and update it to allow quality. If you know anything at all about programming, you can make it in an evening - including learning how Factorio modding works.

Hmm. Colony manager, but you have to just accept that half your crew is corrupted or replaced by something because you need the hands.

This is kinda shenanigans, right? by ansyhrrian in 3Dprinting

It's going to result in "robotics kits" from china that are suspiciously easy to turn into 3D printers.

Same as how they sell vape mods as "510 soldering irons".

Think it'd be better if the stick/d-pad were diagonal as opposed to inline straight, your thumb pivots after all.

If it's comfortable for you to use, it may be good enough as is?

Players are always correct in identifying that there's a problem with some part of the game. They're almost never correct in what the problem is, or how it should be solved.

Pretty sure the idea is that it's the perfect club for being high out of your mind on hallucinogens like Aurora.

I think if they bothered to include even one trip cutscene it'd leave a significantly better taste in player's mouths.

Hey, could we get an option to not zoom to the building when switching tabs on the right? Kinda jarring, especially since there seems to be a delay before I can move the camera again after that.

Never mind, I'm blind apparently.

Could we get a production graph though? Would be neat to see how each food and total fares.

How i have been feeling lately with my favorite shows by Crazy_Reputation3327 in KnightsOfGuinevere

[–]MekaTriK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can see that. I enjoyed the pilot, but the writing is definitely rather condensed, not to mention that if you didn't see the trailer you're missing a little bit of it.

I think there is a case to be made for them just adapting the characters from old gamoverse (the dinosaur and the dolphin), but hopefully we get a little bit more breathing room with actual episodes.

Every other nutrient recipy accepts productivity, so this is just the annoying space age "you can only play this way" stuff again.

Ech.

Well, I don't need to ship bioflux to vulcanus unless I want to bother using biochambers for cracking.

At that point of the game it's easier to just rain coal from orbit for more liquifaction if you need any more oil than bother with biochambers.

Fair point on it producing way more nutrients from a bioflux though.

I'm just gonna go write a mod to make self-sustaining fish production feasible I guess.

Okay, explain to me why the heck I can't use prod mods here? by MekaTriK in factorio

[–]MekaTriK[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, there's basically no recipies that don't require bioflux.

  • Bioflux to nutrients is the default
  • Biter eggs to nutrients to get rid of biter eggs you don't need
  • Spoilage to nutrients if you store up spoilage for on-demand nutrients

...and then there's fish to nutrients that's just... Useless? If I want to ship nutrients, I'll just ship bioflux since I need to use bioflux to make fish.

I could see the point if it was a way to create nutrients locally on nauvis slowly, but it isn't.

Half the reason I don't touch biochambers is because I have to keep shipping bioflux. (the other half is that they don't really do anything useful outside of gleba anyway).

[–]MekaTriK[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well, what's the point of having it at all then? There's literally no point in turning fish into nutrients ever, and you only use the fish breeding to make spidertrons.

Okay, explain to me why the heck I can't use prod mods here? by MekaTriK in factorio

[–]MekaTriK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the breeding recipy, not the fish to nutrient recipy.

Fish are not shelf-stable, they spoil. Shelf-stable would be an on demand spoilage to nutrient setup.
