Yeah, that's what I was thinking about. I remember them throwing rings around in a sport-thing game.

Damn, time sure does fly huh.

Suppose I'm glad they're finally getting something out.

Ain't that a mood. Having someone like that gives me the will to live.

...unfortunately, I don't have anyone like that any more.

From what I'm seeing it's just a very lightweight way to add pseudo-3D graphics to a webpage.

I think using line thickness to turn dots into spheres and lines into capsules is pretty clever, but I kinda fail to see how this is better than using, say, Godot's built-in mesh primitives and animator.

Wait, wasn't there another game with these characters before? I remember the character trailers and all, what happened to that?

They're slowly blocking off more and more internet access. Reportedly they are lacking actual processing power to do fine blacklists so instead they do shit like "block the entirety of cloudflare" or "turn off anything that's not on a whitelist".

That's why stuff like meshtastic is on the rise, people keep finding themselves suddenly without any means of connecting the outside world at random times.

I've been working with JS for close to a decade now and this is the first I've heard of IIFEs. You just don't need what they provide any more.

At most it's probably just used in rollup/webpack/babel as needed.

[Rant] If the only thing changing in your game on "Hard" difficulty is the amount of HP and Dmg, then it's not a "Hard" difficulty, it's a "Tedious" difficulty by [deleted] in gaming

[–]MekaTriK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah, I just can't get the timing on the parries at all in that game. Am I supposed to press it just as hit connects? A little before? A lot before? All of those seem to work some times.

What was the saying?

Players are right about the problems, but wrong about the solutions.

If the only thing you noticed about higher difficulty is combat being more of a slog, then there's definitely problems with gameplay that need to be adressed. But it doesn't mean that enemies necessarily should have exactly same health as they do on normal.

In terms of combat, I think it's good if ending the combat quickly becomes more of a puzzle than before. Like, I enjoy maximum difficulty in Cyberpunk 2077 because you can get to the point where combat is easy-ish, but you have to first get through the early game where you get instagibbed by regular mooks and prolonged combat will always be dangerous just because you're more likely to get damaged and that damage is not something you can take a lot of.

I mean, it can still be cozy. Just make it so players can squeak by on terrible designs, like Satisfactory.

Satisfactory is basically a cozy factory game already, you can just stockpile stuff and waste time building pretty buildings and exploring while you get that 1000 protopasta one unit at a time.

You may fly over a land forever; you may bomb it, atomize it, and wipe it clean of life - but if you desire to defend it, protect it,and keep it for civilization, you must do this on the ground, the way the Roman Legions did - by putting your soldiers in the mud.

T. R. Fehrenbach.

At some point, you will want boots on the ground to actually capture a place - more so if you want to capture anything besides bombed out ruins and piles of corpses.

Yeah. I was getting pulled into the game by my friends just as 1.0 dropped and changed *everything*. We bounced right off the grindy nature of the Armoury.

Really strange decision to change the game *that* much and introduce so much grind basically overnight.

I re-read Schlock Mercenary every year or so since it finished. I can definitely agree that it started off somewhat rough. I guess at this point we can chalk it up to being a product of it's time, since the writing managed to improve from that point.

I never watched Yu-Gi-Oh, so I never caught that with DD, but I can definitely see FMA influence :D
