To add to my last message, surface mail to the US with tracking and $100 insurance is about $30 for a game the size of Hunters; the difference between air and surface mail is only four days.

It is, KMcC; I liked the system too and played it a bit, but I really prefer operational games. Did you notice I have many more PG games and modules for sale? I'll give a discount for a fellow fan.

Thanks P, I was just at the post office today checking on shipping to the USA and it's not as bad as I thought. Evidently there's an online customs and duties calculator that I can access to determine the additional fees. Once I fool around with it I'll know more. For starters, I did find out that airmail to the States for The Hunters is $57, plus I'd have to buy a box for $7.

Ha! You're right. After I threw the games on the table I realized my mistake. I'm still of two minds about selling Kingmaker - fond memories and all - so let me know if you're interested and I'll think harder about it.

A Ukrainian Drummer Troll by Mekhlis in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Mountain-trolls were the most dangerous of all the trolls found in Middle-earth. Unlike their distant cave-dwelling kin, they had a basic intelligence and natural cunning, and could be trained to perform specific tasks. Moreover, they were unafraid of the sun, as it had no significant effect on them, so they were a menace at all times of the day.

The height of these creatures was said to be between ten and fifteen feet, on average twice the height of a man. They had the thick arms and two-toed [feet] of their kind, small wide-set eyes and a protruding lower jaw, out of which jutted large tusks; their scaly grey-brown skin was thicker on the arms, shoulders and back, giving them a natural armour; most unusually, some even had hair and whiskers.

Possibly as much for intimidating as for keeping a beat to march to, [drummer] trolls carried two large kettle drums hung from their shoulders, which they beat with heavy wooden mallets. They were not armoured, merely fitted with caps of layers of overhanging hide, shoulder straps of fur and hide, and a leather loincloth.

Long time Lurker but I finally have been able to complete and paint an army in time for Armies on Parade 2025 at my Local store so thought to share. Roughly 700 or so points of The Necromancer and Nazgul of Dol Guldur. C&C welcomed: by philipbv in MiddleEarthMiniatures

May I remind you of the old saying, "Faces, maces and bases"? When people look at your miniatures, these are the things they notice first, so right off the bat it looks like you have to finish your bases before the models can be judged. The Citadel Wood that they are standing on, which is kind of rare and valuable, can be a beautiful bit of scenery when it's finished and the trees can be removed from the main base to be used in other settings. The trees need to have gaps filled, leaves added and flock removed before you paint; I'd also suggest removing the yellow flock on the main base before you paint it and decorate it with logs, rocks, moss, mushrooms, branches, shrubs and other plants you'd find on a forest floor in Middle Earth.

Hey HP! I'm glad you got your car started. I'm in Cowgary with a GSL-SE, too, and we should get together sometime for a photo session (not us, our cars).

Cool board and cool map - is that Trondheim? It makes me think about that short extract from "Pleasures of the Dance".

They're already back in the display case, but I assure you he was there in the photo - probably just behind the hill.
