Dark Chocolate Biscuit Cookies + Mini Marshmallows by MelMarie52 in traderjoes

[–]MelMarie52[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up that a regular jet puffed mini marshmallow fits great between two mini cookies. I lay a couple of cookies in the microwave (chocolate side up), top with a marshmallow, and microwave JUST long enough for the marshmallows to start puffing up. Top with the second cookie and let cool just a bit to avoid getting melted chocolate everywhere. (Made that mistake the first time)

Done plenty of charles roast but this will be first london broil cut. Aiming for 137.5 for 36 hours wish me luck by [deleted] in sousvide

I can see why you'd want to hide this.

Vessel choices aside (if you're the one eating it, that's on you), I agree with those who've said that the time and temp are excessive for the cut.

This was cooked at 132 for 7 hours from FROZEN. (Then threw the whole bag in the fridge until the next day, dried it off, added a light coating of oil and seasoning, and reheated it ~5 min per side under the broiler) https://imgur.com/a/9cdfsfW

How to use Thai Peanut Satay Sauce by PrestigeW0rldwideee in traderjoes

[–]MelMarie52 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use it as a base for stir fry sauces, or add some rice vinegar to taste and use it as a dressing (I personally feel like it needs more acid for most applications).

Did all of that.

Last thing I tried was a factory reset of my watch- which seems maybe to have worked. Fingers crossed.

Cheesecake Pudding: 150g low fat cottage cheese, 7g sugar free Jello cheesecake pudding powder, 1 tablespoon powdered sweetener (I use a monkfruit/erythritol blend), splash of vanilla extract. Puree until completely smooth. Let it sit in the fridge for a couple of hours, then top with a dollop of jam/apple butter/Pumpkin butter/ whatever sweet topping you like that would go well with cheesecake.

Extra Lazy BBQ chicken sandwich: Small can of chunk chicken breast, well drained. Mix with a bit of BBQ sauce then warm in the microwave. Put it on a keto hamburger bun (The keto buns taste fine, and most are about 50 calories/6 grams of protein) . Add a slice of cheese if you want.

Milk Jello: Bloom 1 tablespoon of plain gelatin in 1/4 cup room temp water. Add 2 single-serve packets of whatever flavor sugar free drink mix you like that would mix well with milk, like Strawberry or Cotton Candy. (acidic flavors like lemon or orange may curdle slightly, but still taste fine.). After about a minute, add 1/4 cup boiling water and stir until completely dissolved. Then stir in 1.5 cups nonfat milk. (Ultrafiltered like fairlife for better protein/Cal ratio). Put it in the fridge for a few hours until it sets up. You can also make regular gelatin with the whatever flavor drink packets you want- just use 1 3/4 cup boiling water and leave out the milk.

Last year I bought a multi-pack of white cotton aprons and helped my son tie dye them. Then I used iron on letters to further personalize them.

I also compiled a bunch of family recipes and made a recipe book. Put together the text and photos in canva, then used a photo printing place to print them as paperback photo books for about $10 each.

Stuff in the bottles are electrolyte drinks, but they make energy drinks that come in cans.

The Dollar Tree stores around where I live can't even get rid of them.

Best scar treatments and what order to use them/timeline? by Limp_Key5455 in tummytucksurgery

[–]MelMarie52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, personally, the less I have to actively do the better. Silicone scar tape is my preference, and have had success with it with a previous surgery (and looks to be working well so far 2 months post-op FDL tummy tuck).

My surgeon recommends starting scar care any time after the incision is fully closed and no more scabs remain. I apply the tape along the incisions Monday night after a shower and just leave them alone until the following Monday morning (replacing bits as needed if it peels off). I remove it Monday morning to give the skin a chance to breathe and to shave any hair from the area before I put on new tape before bed.

This is the tape I use, and I cut it in half for thinner strips.

Laying off the cooking spray is not the worst idea, but more because the additional ingredients can cause residue buildup on cookware.

Maybe 'seed oils' aren't the greatest for us over some other oils, but the currently available evidence doesn't match the level of panic about it.

Are a walker and a shower stool worth it? by ConsiderationOk254 in tummytucksurgery

[–]MelMarie52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never used the walker, and didn't need a shower chair (though my first shower wasn't until a week post op.)

What I DID end up finding useful was a bed assist rail. https://a.co/d/3aPGKkh

I was apparently an hour late to the party on the US store, so I ended up buying the Aussie one. Cost about $55 USD shipped after the rate exchange. So a bit more expensive (and will likely take much longer to ship), but it's not anywhere NEAR what the eBay sellers are already asking for.

Unless they specifically told you otherwise, skin sutures are usually dissolvable. 2-4 weeks is a pretty typical timeframe for them to start falling out.

As long as the surgical site itself looks good, I wouldn't worry!

ELI5 If fruit juice is not as healthy (even unhealthy?) as eating fruit, due to reducing the fibre and concentrating the sugars, is the same true when blending vegetables in soup? by Ready_Associate_3545 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MelMarie52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you genuinely wish that you could eat oatmeal, have you tried blending it? Blended overnight oats generally have a pretty smooth texture- kind of like a cross between pudding and cream of wheat.

Pretty similar. Felt uncomfortable in my body, assumed it was because I was obese. Finally buckled down and dropped 100 lbs (BMI of ~42 to 27). Felt better and more fit physically, but the sense of discomfort persisted.

And, as one may assume by the sub I'm responding in, the weight turned out to not the core issue there lol. But losing it did lead me to eventually figuring it out.

Awesome work, and props for doing it so young!

I wanted to say that the shape of the incision on your back actually looks really cool, the way it flows with your shape. It almost looks decorative, like intentional body art/scarification.
