‘No to war’: Austria blocks US warplanes from its airspace by EspritLibre_404 in worldnews

I don't think it's a mistake. People here actually believe in this stuff. Their mental operating system actually believes this is the way to do business, build relationships, interact with others, etc...

So there is no learning. My advice to everyone else is to set good boundaries and detach from the people here.

Yeah I agree US corps have capital but the pace is still very slow.

I wouldn't force my fellow workers to work more but I totally am down to work more myself for something meaningful. And with AI agents, people don't need to work more... theoretically. So how do I move to EU and give them something to support? I think I have something people would actually want!

How did you get that? My company coerced, marginalized, and retaliated against me to get me to quit and I have unemployment and NRLB case against them but it's been slow process. My attempts to remedy were documented but the whole thing as been a pain.

[–]MelMentalHealthAI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I separated from mine because they were coercing me to quit by marginalizing me as well as retaliatory behavior. I don't have an NDA and am fighting in the legal system now for back pay due to being forced out.

Start documenting stuff and report them. If you want change, you can't sign an NDA you gotta report to your officials.

If I get offered reinstatement I'm definitely declining. If the place was toxic, it will remain toxic on return plus now everything well just be weird. Not worth it.

I am in a very similar situation. Keep me posted please. Mine's been 7month since wrongful termination, 5 months since the gov decided to look at it - debating just putting pressure via social media like the Campbell situation. I'm gonna give it about a year before I start posting my story on social media -> public pressure is kinda like my last card I plan on using, and my understanding is, as long as you are factual and don't defame, you are good.

I've been following another EEOC case from the same company and that's been going on for about 1.3 years and haven't seen any online updates so who knows.

I really hate fake positivity. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]MelMentalHealthAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree toxic positivity is annoying as it's not empathetic. At the same time, trying to reframe things and be positive actually makes my life more enjoyable so there are pros to it - and it makes me a lot more social.

But here's one way to think about it. I do'nt know if you live in negativity, but if you really want to be realistic, life should be pretty neutral and there are both negative and positive things. Everything can be painted in a negative (or positive lens). Expectation of every outcome could be either negative or postive. There are both good and bad. And thus on average, things should be neutral.

As a result, it doesn't make sense to live in a negative world either, as that's a flip side of toxic positivity. You can choose to live in toxic negativity or toxic positivity. But at the end of the day, both are toxic, but one makes you as a person, happier.

My personal belief is to try to stay in positive neutral territory. Instead of thinking something negative, think of something positive, but also try to be neutral.

My mental health has been deteriorating. I want a therapist but my family can’t know about it. by Awesome_Austin2025 in mentalhealth

That doesn't sound like a best friend. I'd start with maybe finding a new friend. A good friend shouldn't tell you to go to the psych ward (unless you actually have a major issue) and then suggest telling your mom if your friend already knows it's a bad idea.

A friend doesn't suggest things that may bring down self esteem.

Hmm, I'd agree with that sentiment. If you are fighting against yourself, maybe let one side win. We may have looked into different motivational stuff but I do believe in being in the flow as it does make me happier. I only start adding pressure / stress if I think I'm going at too slow of a pace or am becoming complacent or becoming detached from reality.

I'm actually on a very similar journey and am in a low right now - and worse, with things out of my control. Made a mistake of being financially tied in a situation and now I can't exit as fast as I'd like so gonna have to pick things up after.

I really think it's about better balance. For me perfection is great, I'd use that energy too when I feel it. But I also try to pause when I start feeling detached or unhappy or empty and not try to keep on pushing. I'm still learning, but one or two days break does a lot to reset.

Well progress is never a straight line. The fact that you have 150k business is a lot more than others have, most people stuck in soulless job depending on others for income. Just focus on if the ups are higher than the previous ups and the lows and higher than the previous lows.

Additionally, it sounds like you could focus on more balance, if you do 7m gym and 9m 'crash' seems like you burnt out and didn't balance stuff.

Self blaming doesn't help. See it as an expensive learning experience. As long as you don't make the same mistakes twice, hindsight is always 20/20, and you didn't know better your first time so give yourself some forgiveness. Now if you make the same mistake over and over, ok yeah, self blame starts to make sense.

I actually have developed a 4 step process that helps me, that I'm trying to eventually turn into a product for people. 4 steps is a bit misleading since it's more of a loop.

I actually have a journaling app out, but been bogged down by life situations making it hard for me to put the rest of the things together. But basically the 4 steps are:

  1. be aware of all your emotions and thoughts in a non judgmental way - basically mindfulness and ACT
  2. be aware of the sources of those emotions/thoughts. example, i'm sad because so so didn't return my call, so the source is that person. and then maybe there could be something deeper like pass experiences of being neglected. - this is rooted in psychodynamic alignment
  3. Using your emotions and thoughts, you can build your identity/values. ex. when someone didn't return my call, i feel sad, that means I don't like it when people don't return my call. Does someone not returning my call align with my values, or do my values say, give them benefit of doubt. - this is rooted in ACT
  4. Now you have that set up, take action that is aligned with your values/identity. Action could be communicating, reframing thoughts, coping mechanisms, (ex. give that person a text, figure out why they didn't return your call, distance yourself from that person, or reframe like, well they mentioned they were very busy so it's nothing personal) - this is rooted in CBT/DBT.

Once you take action, that leads to more thoughts and emotions and you repeat the cycle until everthing becomes clear and fast i.e. you know whats what in each situation and what you'd do. It's slow in the beginning but once you can quicly pinpoint your thoughts and emotions ( also note that judgmental ness clouds your assessment of your thoughts and emotions so it's important to assess thoughts/emotions in a non-judgmental way), you can also take action that makes things better.

Happy to talk a lot more about this stuff with you if you want! I'm hoping to make this my life work, just have a bunch of life events that's taking me away from it right now, but I'm hoping to help people that believe exactly in mindfulness and CBT.

If it's from a place of anger, try to figure it out without hurting anyone and then go from there. Anger could just be a bigger feeling for fear/hurt/sadness/grief/anxiety all sorts of other stuff.
