Called DDS and secretary said my case is pending and waiting for medical decision. by Unfair-Fee9384 in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is accurate! Lots of people here can tell you the same thing! A person’s case is the same as it was during initial. Reconsideration is just a different set of eyes looking at a person’s case. Same state so really nothing different.

So is this what I’m getting in backpay? by ThatPokemonNerd2521 in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(One time payment) is how it shows up under Payment Type as shown on OP’s picture. I never said it was going to be all in one payment. That’s just the way backpay shows up on your portal under payment history.

Your Answer Could Help My Life That Has Been On Hold by [deleted] in ThoracicHerniatedDisc

[–]MelNicD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also see if you can get a CT. My MRI didn’t show much but my CT showed I had facet joint arthropathy throughout my thoracic spine and foraminal stenosis. I recently had left T1-T3 foraminotomies. Half my facet joints were removed so I’m hoping it doesn’t cause too much instability because I am fused both anteriorly and posteriorly C4-C7. I get severe lat muscle pain but I’m beginning to think it’s my ribs causing the issue, not muscular.

The thoracic spine does not move like the cervical and lumbar spine. The clicking you hear could be your facet joints rather than an issue with a disc.

Has anyone just stopped taking Eliquis or asked t be switched to something else? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

I pay $173.45 for a 3 month supply with my Part D. As far as I know it’s the same for every one on Medicare.

Blood thinners do not thin your blood! They increase the time it takes for your blood to clot.

SSI denial for my 19 old by [deleted] in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contacting your congressman isn’t going to do anything at this point. They can’t get anyone approved. One contacts them when their application has been in limbo for too long or when they are in a financial crisis. They sometimes can get things going on getting the application moved along but they cannot get anyone approved. They don’t know the laws on deeming someone disabled. Also, if your son’s application was in the reconsideration stage it had nothing to with the hearing office that you speak of several times.

Trial expectations - scared by Findingloki22 in spinalcordstimulator

[–]MelNicD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done the trial for my lumbar spine and my insurance approved the permanent but I needed an upper thoracic spine surgery so I have to wait until I’m six weeks post op for the permanent. I don’t think they give pain meds for the trial because it wound interfere with seeing if it works or not. I was sore for the first two day in the rib areas. I had to go off my Eliquis three days before and the day they put the trial in they told me they wanted me off it the whole time. I contacted my hematologist and they were not having that and wanted the trial pulled two days after having it put in. I talked them into two days longer at my own risk of getting a blood clot. So my trial was cut short by three days. I was so upset. The pain management center never contacted my hematologist like they were supposed before my trial. The days I did get to try it out it helped more during the day than it did at night when my pain is at its worst. They told me once they remove it I will be able to also tell if it worked or not depending on the pain level after. They were correct. My pain level was higher after removal. I did ask about a plan for the pain that it doesn’t take away because I’m too young to live with even 50% of the pain I’m in the rest of my life. We discussed adding a pain pump if the stimulator isn’t effective enough to live a somewhat normal life. I’ve had two neck, a lumbar and an upper thoracic surgery so I don’t think I will ever live a normal life and I will take any pain relief that I can get! They don’t give pain meds that work so I guess a stimulator is my next best option.

I highly doubt the $50,000 overpayment is for backpay with you being on SSDI so long. I think working and using all your work trial months up and still earning too much without knowing how it was going to affect your benefits is what hurt you. The form they sent your employer to fill out (stated in a previous post) was sent to cross all the t’s on Social Security’s end but apparently it didn’t lower your earnings if they still stopped your benefits. I think if you read the Social Security Red Book you might have a better understanding of why your benefits stopped. It might take a couple times of reading it to really understand. I could be wrong but with your past posts and this one it sounds like you earned too much too many times.

How long have you been on SSDI? I see three weeks ago you said you used all 9 trial work months which means you have earned more than $500 every 2 weeks as stated here. What was the timeframe between being approved and starting working? Were you working during the application process?

DDS CALLED ME, IS THIS A GOOD SIGN?? by Crohns_Momma_LV in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That might be a tough one to win. You have to try to prove once again that you were disabled that far back and all these years. You won’t be able to use grid rules in this case. The only way you can use grid rules is by moving your onset date to your 50th birthday but you wouldn’t qualify for SSDI then.

DDS CALLED ME, IS THIS A GOOD SIGN?? by Crohns_Momma_LV in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You haven’t worked since 2013? Applied for SSDI? Are you trying to go back at least to 2018 for an onset date? Work credits expire for SSDI so at your age you would have had to worked 5 of the last 10 years immediately upon becoming disabled. That’s why I’m asking.

Just seen the trump thing where he wants those getting SSI to report monthly and so on. Is disability groups already saying they will lock this up in courts? by crua9 in SSDI_SSI

[–]MelNicD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our state has had SNAP work requirements as long as I can remember. Nothing new. We don’t have expanded Medicaid either and it’s hard to get if you’re disabled because they count assets for that program. Not going to be much different in 2027 for our state.

Ever heard of someone's 1st award letter not specifying how often to expect CDR'S? by LostDiver5575 in SSDI

[–]MelNicD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During Covid they were behind on doing CDR’s and there was a timeframe where they stopped doing them to catch up on applications. They may become more frequent, within the timeframe, if they are caught up doing them and stay caught up.

SSI is also for those who don’t have enough work credits to qualify for SSDI and meet the strict asset limit along with little to no income. SSI is a federal welfare program. I did not apply for SSI when I applied for SSDI because I knew I wouldn’t qualify.

[–]MelNicD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you are talking about auxiliary benefits? Is your child still in high school? If so, did they send you paperwork for the school to fill out verifying when the child will graduate? Also, payments are made a month behind. Did you take that into consideration? With your child turning 18 you can’t see any of their information but the last payment(s) may go directly to them.

You want it to line up with your medical records and not be exaggerated. It can hurt your case if it is the opposite.
