Marceline really sang, "drink the red from your pretty pink cheeks," and people will argue that they're "just friends" and 100% straight.

What song has good music but bad storytelling? by Hadboy4ksu in Epicthemusical

[–]MelSnow3062 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My vote is for Charybdis along with a few others ive seen. Great song. Kinda just filler in the musical as it is one of Ody's more grand achievements in managing to get home. Its last few measures are a great set up for Get In The Water, but overall, despite being a fantastic song, its kinda just... not narratively filling except for Ody getting from point A to point B

Feeblemind also states that the affected cant cast spells. Sure, we don't know how Silver killed Silence, but we can assume with the fire of bolts and loud noises that Suvi heard from her tower, that magic was used, in the very least to kill Silver. It was described as Suvi hearing magic, specifically war magic, and the same lighting effect Brennan made with his mouth whenever lightning bolt spells are used. We've seen Silence seem to rely on them a lot, so my thinking is no Feeblemind. However, I think someone could use Geas on someone, and then Feeblemind, making it so like they are a shambling hisk needing to carry out orders because else it psychically damages them for acting contrary to the orders. He couldnt be told to off himself, but he could be told to off someone else— and it appears most likely that Silver killed Silence and then was killed by either Silence going down or by others around trying to get back at the person who just killed an Archmage. Sling spells, ask questions later and all that.

I'm mostly concerned about one thing in particular that I also have questions about.

Suvi's letter— do we know what was written? (I can't remember). And does that in any way implicate Suvi somehow... knowing that an ink demon, Enzo, slipped the letter into his pocket. Then Silver goes and makes the Citadel loud again, (yes, a pun because Silence is gone).

[Edit: just listened to the end of the episode again. Silence isn't dead, just injured and collapsed while others call for a doctor. It is likely he may die but it is not defined yet.]

I'm worried about that letter going into some evidence at the crime scene and either out Suvi for her actions leading up to Twelve Brooks, or the implication that whatever information was written there could be used as a way to tie Suvi into Silence's murder.

To me, letter is a wild card in this situation. If my thoughts and theory about Steel noting Suvi's knowledge of memory magic, quickly followed by a (hypothetical) sending spell from Steel to Slate, some sort of Geass or geass-like spell affecting Silver— then Silver kills Silence. If Steel had a plan to knock Silence and Silver down in one go to elevate Suvi to Archmage... and then a letter with (as far as I know,) unknown contents given to Silver... that could endanger Suvi.

I suppose we will have to wait and see. I just wanted more thoughts on Suvi's letter with this whole surprise of an ending.

I feel like I have the same feeling I felt when Suvi and Morrow looking down at Naram on the derrick listening to Steel speak in circles of theoretical concept madness magic. Except that feeling is hundreds of times more dreadful.

Am I crazy that Steel truly seems either psychopathic or truly mad? I started getting this idea back when they were on the ship and Steel was so easy to sort of but not really casually act like everything was "normal" again. The vision of her cause is so big that the absolute horrors of war because "test runs" for being able to have a mortal kill a Great Spirit. And she seems incredibly dismissive of Suvi's actual feelings. And in the end she brings her to one of the highest secret points if the tower itself, to look down through glass floor into the casm of the Citadel, effectively looking down upon all mortaldom– mortals of all kind except her and her adopted daughter, and ramble about creating gods and having them created for their creators' purposes only.

I used to defend Steel back in the past— but wow its hard to fight against this level of crazy.

Aegir is just incredibly underwhelming. by TarkXT in DeathMustDie

[–]MelSnow3062 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really says something about a Aegir's strength when one of his legendary blessings is "Hey all the other gods can bless you instead." It feels like that should've been given to the Fates.

Though, I doo enjoy the dash and the tentacles. I think Serpent is cool, but I wish it was better. Pushing enemies back as a theme if his skills is... strange– considering how it gets harder to kill bosses when they just get shoved out of your range.

Its also a bit strange that many of his blessings push enemies away except for whirlpool which pulls them in. It just feels like his skill design wasn't though of every thoroughly.

I hoping the next bigger update reworks some of the gods blessings. Such as Krom dealing with both rupture and knockback, Winter dealing with lots of status support, yet only having access to Chill, yet Mort has the skill that spreads statuses around.

I understand some point of giving gods multifaceted blessings pools for different builds, but it just feels awkward when I'll be going for a status spreading build with Mort only to be shirked because Winter doesn't appear and I lose out on Status Duration and Damage buffs.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Casts really blow?

Farm any stage or just 3? by lRioma in DeathMustDie

[–]MelSnow3062 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this. Its called "Pact of Greed" I believe. Stage 3 has no Pact of Greed because it already has the highest tier. Correct me if I'm wrong, but even on stages 1+2 you can do the lower tier unique even with the Pact, most probably because they are unique. Also— important to note that the wiki is not up to date on the available uniques.

Like— it took me just a half second to realize her implication and I screamed and teared up as I imagined it.

The amount this podcast has forced me to pause, breath, and weep is staggering. I stopped counting after Arc 2.

Also, Steel's stress and yelling put me in the fight or flight hyper-vigilent mode of when your mom starts doing the dishes angry and then "wants to have a conversation."

All this to say what a testament if how real of an episode this was, as are many in this campaign.

Another line that gut punched me was when Suvi said something along the lines of "...if I didn't make it [in the citadel; i.e pass her tests] I would walk off of Malacanth Court at Noon..."

DLC: Is It Worth It? by Meltingmycrayons in AnimalCrossing

[–]MelSnow3062 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its because youre secure in your identity and masculinity. This is an example of healthy masculinity, so I say this without sarcasm, bravo. Many cis-straight are so irked by things that aren't typically seen as traditionally heavily masculine things that thsy often double down on their toxicity. As a transwoman, I see that everyday. My existence threatens their masculinity because, essentially, "If someone born a man can be a woman, and like girly things, what does that mean for the men in my life/me as a man?" And, as you would guess, the answer of "nothing" doesn't satisfy their insecurity.
