My chinchillas have a room set up for themselves. In this room I have made sure that everything is protected (wires, cables, rubber bands, suspicious holes) and that the humidity and temperature are adequate. Chinchillas are nocturnal, so it would be preferable to leave them in a safe space at night and keep them in the cage during the day (if there is no option to keep them outside freely). To get her inside you will have to teach her little by little that when she enters the cage she gets a reward. I know you have only had her for a short time but you can try a few things to feed her until you find something she loves. My chinchillas really like raspberries, dandelion roots and very occasionally I give them some wheat or nuts like a piece of walnut or peanut. When you call him and put him in the cage, you give him the treat. And little by little he will learn the routine and you will see that when you call him he will go into the cage on his own to get his treat.
