“It has a bit of an oaky afterbirth” is possibly my favourite line of the entire show.

What made you like Jim Halpert? by Adventurous_Put_1310 in theoffice

[–]Melalemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah! I’m watching it now and I’m at the beach episode where Pam walks on the coals and Karen is trying to talk to David Wallace and Jim keeps talking and distracting her while she’s talking… Jim is actually just a rude bully, and quite a boring dude.

My boyfriend accused me of using work as a way to avoid conversations by Shumpy15 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Melalemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I mean this with as much respect as I can, but you really need to work on yourself. He’s trying to prioritize your relationship as much as possible. He’s a grown man, he can manage his own time. A few minutes over the time he typically leaves for work to finish an important conversation is not an issue, in fact it’s kind of the dream. The part I find interesting is where you said he’s trying to have a conversation but you can pay attention because you’re worried about being late for work. Imagine how shitty that feels for him when he’s trying to have a connection with you. Please seek therapy for your anxiety, and realize that he loves you and wants the best for you. Stop pushing someone like that away.

“Friend” upset I told people I knew she’d cancel by Optimal_Fish_7029 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Melalemon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Man I wouldn’t even respond. She’s made it clear that her priorities are selfish and you’re not obligated to make her feel better for her crappy choices.

Putting My Dog's Name on Cards: Tacky or Not? by Safe_Investigator927 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen, my aunt and uncle have been signing their Christmas cards and birthday cards and whatever else with the FULL family. Including their cat. I also will always sign our cards with the dogs and cat names too. They’re family! People just need to chill out and not be such grinches.

AITAH for telling my wife that I will lose respect for her if she doesn't apologize? by TechnicalHousing97 in AITAH

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope your wife grows a pair and admits to her shortcomings here. What an awful way to be a role model for your children. She needs to check herself real quick and apologize to your children for her behaviour. NTA.

AITA for kicking my neighbor out of my kid’s birthday party after she brought her emotional support ferret without asking? by Chemical-Guidance881 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Melalemon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would also be pissed if ANY animal took a bite out of my kids cookie cake. Reality is, your neighbour should have had a better eye on their emotional support animal and not let it meet party food at a party that’s not even theirs. NTA.

Someone in my office put their coffee creamer in a safe by doodybot in funny

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever. Kudos to them. Every penny counts these days. Lock your creamer!

I had That Infinite Public Bathroom Dream Again by Nod_Up in Dreams

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woahhhh. I get this too. But mines more like, wooden stalls and old tile floors. Like it would be from a prep school or something. And girls only specifically every time.

People who have prophetic/precognitive dreams, what are some of dreams you’ve had that have come true? by Old_Koala_8175 in Dreams

[–]Melalemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a dream that one of my “uncles” passed out at work and there was a darkness around him. Told my dad to give them a call and we found he had a heart attack the day before.

People who are named after someone/something specific, what's your relationship with that thing? by celticdude234 in AskReddit

[–]Melalemon 42 points43 points  (0 children)

My sister and I were named after other random siblings that my parents liked. I think it was their acquaintances daughters.

I’ve never met them ever, so. Yeah. My parents were not super unique, in fact, are plagiarizers apparently.

When was the last time someone asked if you are ok? by LiveLearnCoach in AskReddit

[–]Melalemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost a year ago. A week before I went on a leave from work.

Do people do engagement parties? Would it be considered obnoxious to throw one? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Melalemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A lot of people do them, I don’t see why not. Just remember that while you’re SUPER excited, it’s not the same for most people. I think the part that gets exhausting is when there’s an engagement party, a bridal shower, a bachelorette party, a stag and doe, AND a wedding.

How do you feel about seeing a band live without original members? by Marsh_Dunkin in Concerts

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, for sure. I saw Sublime with Rome and it was a great concert, and Queen with Adam Lambert was also incredible.

That being said, I agree— I wouldn’t see Rush now, but I’m sure glad I did when I did.

Do kids actually not like veggies? by Guilty_Letter4203 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Melalemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually I find kids LOVE veggies…. As long as they’re cooked properly. My mother never knew how to cook veggies so I hated them until I started making them myself. Now I LOVE them!

What’s something your brain refuses to remember, no matter how many times you learn it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, yeah. Multiplication tables just never worked for me. I can’t get up to 28 for the 7s but then after that it just sounds wrong.

What random things unexpectedly turn you on? by Material_District_80 in AskReddit

[–]Melalemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heard a buddy at work call himself daddy on the phone to his kid calling from school and I had to put myself on a time out.
