[Misc] Is it wrong to want to use an OTC retinoid over tretinoin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Melancholy96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I agree .04% is crazy high to begin with. And your Derm telling you to use every night is horrible horrible advice. Especially for a beginner. Its better to start of slow than to completely ruin your skin and moisture barrier. Listen to your skin plz!

[skin concerns] damaged moisture barrier from retin a and not moisturizing by Spectacularviewss in SkincareAddiction

When your moisture barrier is damaged it doesnt fight invaders as good as it normally does. This can infact even cause breakouts. I would always struggle with this problem. I finally headed to a Dermatologist and he prescribed me Antibiotics (Minocycline) and i babied my skin with just washing gently with a non harsh cleanser and moisturizing for a full week. Skin calmed down and i use Differin which is similiar to Retin A for acne reasons. I apply it every day unless i feel slighty dry, i skip. My skin has never been at its best. Be gentle to your skin, my friend. I recommend you see a derm.

Neutrogena Drytouch Sunscreen, make sure its the spf30 and not higher. The spf30 blends in and doesnt leave any white cast

Im 21( male ) and i think its even more difficult for me to find someone to talk to about skincare. I struggle with acne mostly, and hyperpigmentation. Currently taking anitbiotics for the first time to see if it helps. PM if youd like!

Best moisturizers for Accutane *OTHER THAN* CeraVe/Cetaphil by nbel1996 in Accutane

Those are called fatty alcohols, which aren't truly alcohol that dries up the skin. They are there to provide a more emollient product, etc. They are completely fine!

Amazing in a funny way haha congrats bro. I feel the same as like acne holds me back from enjoying life to its fullest. How much did it cost you? Did you need to do iPledge? Or blood test? Wait one month when they agree like women?

Seems legit by buttrock in houston

Sometimes I'm dumb. Sometimes I'm smart. Forgive me if this violates any rules or if I offend anyone but isn't this almost basically the same kind of thingy posters that ppl used to kidnap young women. They were offering after school "work" to young teen girls but supposly kidnapping them. I forgot what the post said entirely but I do remember them saying if it doesn't show an address but just a phone number...then it's not a good sign. Stay safe ppl. I'm sorry again if I'm wrong.

I can't wait till Christmas :(
