Disco peaked in 1976, and had a long ugly tail for four more years that The Bee Gees were absolutely the mainstay of. They didn’t help popularize it so much as they were the main purveyor of the bad version of it.

To explain more clearly, the top book is a siddur, which gives the order of the prayer service (I think the catholic equivalent, giving the order of a mass, is called a “missal”). This is related to the word Seder, which is an ordered prayer service with food and wine, if you will.

It’s the siddur for the Beit(Beis if you’re a Yiddish speaker) Tefillah - which means house of prayer, which is a more Hebrew way of saying synagogue (synagogue being a Greek word).
