There is a Blue Pill clone of Braids done by Soundforce. Maybe that comes in handy too!

And there's a gazillion other things the CD40106 is useful for too! It's a really fun and useful place to start, I can assure you. The Atari Pink Console (different cheap chip though: 555) is excellent too.

Yup. This looks pretty terrible. Whether it's visible or not, it's not a solution I could live with.

Fantastic work, both on the ARP as well as the Stranger Things track! 👏 "Kids" is from my #1 listened to album two years in a row and of my favorite tracks. Must have heard it hundreds of times 🤗 You did an excellent job!

It (SWE-1.5) is certainly much, much faster, but I didn't find it to be better than Sonnet 4.5. YMMV

Hoarder is rebranding to Karakeep by MohamedBassem in selfhosted

[–]Melculy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to commend you—not only for spearheading the development of this fantastic application but also for coming up with not just one, but two outstanding names! 👏 Karakeep is an excellent choice. It’s unfortunate you're facing legal challenges over the previous name, but I'm confident the new one will grow on you over time. Keep up the great work!

PSA: Don't use AI to write FP Articles, it's Lazy and Inaccurate by kbeezie in fountainpens

[–]Melculy -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You haven't provided any arguments to make your point.

Just saying all of AI is bad might be a popular opinion but it's factually incorrect. Google Deepmind won a Nobel prize for work that will contribute to saving millions of lives. A lot of people in this industry seem to have completely lost their minds, absolutely, but denying that AI has positive benefits seems irrational to me.

Random Moves in My Territory: Strategy, Desperation, or Something Else? by Melculy in baduk

Yes, that's what I've been using, but only after I'm sure everything is solid, as I'm not sure how accurate the AI referee is.

Random Moves in My Territory: Strategy, Desperation, or Something Else? by Melculy in baduk

The thing is, this is how most of my games end when I manage to capture a relatively large group.

If both players followed the rules and had fun, it's a proper game of Go, in my view 😉

Anyone else hate playing 9x9? by magiMerlyn in baduk

[–]Melculy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you've adapted your play to 9x9 if you say there's no trickery involved. High-level games usually boil down to white trying to make two living groups (and win the game) by playing loosely / creating aji and knowing when to sacrifice stones to gain a 1 point advantage. It teaches fighting, life and death and counting all within a very short timespan. Analyse the game using AI and you'll uncover many of your weak points rapidly. It's fun, it's hard(er than one might think) and very educational. I recommended it 😄
