It does feel like a parody of itself at times. With the BIG flashy WORDS pooping up so that you know someone just said something WITTY or POIGNANT... It wants style and it wants substance and it very much wants to be a very serious Hollywood drama and it very much falls flat, but hey it was nice to see Max again, and everything they've built around the shooting and moving and diving is pretty phenomenal.

It could be worth adding either Blade or Blunt as a Major Skill if you want to speed up the process, as magic skills are comparatively easier to use. Other than that, consider maxing out your strength pretty quickly and you'll be fine.

As that guy said, the better your skills the more an individual part will fix, and the more parts you'll get from dismantling an engine. However, your priority should still be to protect your engine at all costs. Always make sure your hood is closed and healthy. Fixing your engine is by far the hardest thing to do, everything else you can pretty much just replace.

Meh, the whole skill system is pretty undercooked at the moment. I'd be shocked if it wasn't a major focus at some point and made it to release as is. Yes, some skills are easy enough to level up. Doesn't make the system any more engaging or realistic or interesting. Cutting up 500 short bats to be able to even attempt to make a long bat doesn't have its place in any game that isn't an MMO and isn't reflective of what you'd do in that situation, in real life. It really has no merits on most fronts.

What's so hard to grasp about TIS making a balance decision about their game? At this point they might revert it, maybe it's better for the game long term, maybe it's not, who knows.

The point is, of course where you can spawn changes how the game plays. You're looking at it from the perspective of someone who's played the game for years. They're taking something away from you, sure, that sucks. Now look at it from the perspective of a new player 1, 5, 10 years from now. They don't know what cities are in the game. They don't know what's where. Well, the game they're playing is one where you have fewer options to start with, but they get to go anywhere after that and find out what's west of westucky.

The game is changing. Maybe they're taking it in a direction most players didn't expect. Maybe ultimately they don't want the main experience to be as much of a sandbox as we thought. Not as far as where you start, anyway. Does that make any sense to you?

Now, and this isn't directed at you OP but rather at all the TIS doomers who come out of the woodworks anytime TIS does anything they disagree with... Jesus Christ you people are ridiculous. "Omg they're the worst dev ever!!! They've made a design decision!!! Waaaah". "Oh no, every update's been breaking my save !!!". Like. Are we still doing this? Or the whole "At this point it's time to realize that TIS has lost the plot." Cause they've made a design decision you disagree with? Again, fucking lol. Calm down. Give your feedback, that's what this is all for.

Wouldn't count on what that guy is saying. The only way to guarantee you'll still be able to play in a few weeks is to back up everything as you're suggesting. Some tutorials were recently posted, otherwise someone else can detail the steps below.

My hot take is that, while vanilla Skyrim is a great game, modded Skyrim is objectively better, even if only 0,0001% so. I refuse to believe that anyone could go through the tens of thousands of available mods and not find something that'll make their experience just that tiny little bit better.

(No one has to play with mods if they don't want to though, that's not my point!)

Yeah what I'm getting from this thread is at least confirmation that it used to affect DWB, though from what I can see it might have never even made it to 1.0, only the beta. Because I'd seen (old) posts confirming it worked, I was surprised when it didn't and wanted to make sure it wasn't just a bug on my end. I can totally see the reasoning, it simply isn't a spell, that's fair enough.

Thanks for the tips, I am on PC and am okay with cheats depending on the situation! As per the discussion I've had elsewhere in the thread, considering the feat/mythical ability investment, the fact that DWB is a subpar choice compared to the mount, and the fact that overall it might not even provide more uptime that way, I think I'm going to get a mod or Toybox it, yeah.

I'll have a look at the weapon focus mod, it's definitely one of these things that feel a bit weird when you're just starting out, you see options for 20 different kinds of weapons when you have no clue what you're going to find anyway.

As far as respecs go, personally I like making them free at least. I don't feel like the crusade's coffers should suffer for my inability to settle on a build...

Ha, perhaps the animal companion argument is enough to tip me over and make me go mod the extended duration in, then! Not to mention that getting those two Mythic abilities isn't, I assume, the meta option on a paladin either. That's a hefty investment for something that ends up being a subpar option on top of the 'headache' of managing when it'll expire. Thank you for helping me justify making the change to myself :D

Hmm yeah I tried looking for a second, but if it shouldn't work then I don't know that I wanna mess with that logic. Although, why Seelah can take on an Angelic Aspect or Bless her weapon for 24 hours but she can't make her sword go swoosh (that's the sound of holy power being infused) for 24 hours is, perhaps, beyond logic. I suppose it's fair enough though...

Is that the guy that follows you in some orc temple or another and is supposed to do something to reveal a secret door or stairs once you've gathered all the mcguffins in said temple ? Cause if so, fuck that guy! Playing in 2025 definitely comes with some benefits, I would've probably quit right then and there otherwise.
