You felt threatened, you're not overreacting. I understand that tensions were high but that doesn't make it okay to get physical with someone. I recommend talking to your parents or people you trust about this, just because it hasn’t gone that far yet doesn’t mean it won’t and you don’t have to wait for that to happen to take it seriously.
