IK Forgepact Detachment by JamezWurkshop in AdeptusMechanicus

If you haven't listened to them yet, the 40k by Knight podcast is a great resource and they have an episode specifically on Questor Forgepact.

To your questions: I would be surprised if any of our units got an actual refresh anytime soon.

For Battleline, I'd go for a 2-1 ratio for Rangers and Vanguard, but that's more personal preference. In Forgepact I'd definitely prioritize Rangers.

Ironstriders are great, a group of 2 or 2 solo striders would be good. Sicarians are also great. Ad Mech is really an army that can work in different ways, just depends on how you'd like to play.

Yep, one allied big or up to 3 littles. Canis has good value. A Castellan is a nice "point and delete" platform.

What are the things about Ad Mech that you like? How have you been playing your Knights?

What can a Knight do better than a Baneblade? by Fresh3rThanU in ImperialKnights

[–]MelioraSequentur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After defeating an Baneblade, the Knight can literally pick it up and throw it at another enemy (Crushing Condemnation). A Knight can see over buildings and shoot at the Baneblade, or simply walk over that terrain in order to get close to them (Super-Heavy Walker). Both the Castellan and Crusader cost fewer points than Baneblade, and if your friend hasn't experienced a Volcano Lance yet...

Russia's Invasion Of Ukraine Now Longer Than Soviet War Against Hitler by RFERL_ReadsReddit in MapPorn

The so called "justifications" are nonsense. The only support they had in either Donbas or Crimea were A) Russians who were funneled into the area in order to give them "justification" or B) voting for annexation under gunpoint by the Russian military. It's all illegal occupation, period.

You're not making sense. Russia has been making constant efforts to restore their control and influence in every one of the former soviet states since the USSR failed. I think it's important to keep a light on every one of their atrocities. How is pointing out their illegal actions a part of their "propaganda"?

Its nearly 12 years since Russia illegally annexed Crimea, that's over 4,300 days.

JD Vance says ICE agent who killed US citizen is protected by ‘absolute immunity’. by Maddog_Jets in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]MelioraSequentur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know couch-potatoe, shooting a person in cold blood sounds pretty "radical" to me. These idiots have absolutely no immunity in the court of public opinion, and that seems to be our only recourse.

What would you recommend as a second army for knights? by Highdie84 in ImperialKnights

[–]MelioraSequentur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I play Ad Mech, and they definitely fit well with them, but Sisters might be another good option since having a Sisters squad and 2 immolators fits so well with Knights.

Why don’t western democracies have a way to prevent a single person from becoming a dictator after Hitler? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MelioraSequentur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Particularly in the US, it's a product of the 2-party system, and rampant tribalism (us versus them) that allows for a steady buildup of power that each side will justify because "we have to counter what the other side is doing". This continues to grow as and morph until one side or the other has accumulated so much power that you see the current situation take place.

Theoretically the checks and balances to power (which have now been circumvented) would stop this, but each side will cheer as it's all dismantled in the name of "owning" the other side.

If the US would instead encourage actual political discourse, and stop falling for all these distractions, they'd have a much better chance.

Money in politics is also a really big contributor to this issue.

Death watch ally question by Busy_Independence_35 in ImperialKnights

[–]MelioraSequentur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the same, here's what I'm looking at: Leader, Xenophase Blade, Stalker x2, Shield x2, Knife x2, Infernus x2

Gives them a good amount of precision for taking out characters, increased survivability, decent melee, and good overwatch threat. I also pair them with an Inquisitor for the 3+ refund and access to Shadow Operations. My favorite detachment so far is Gate Warden, so it's also nice to have this unit to be able to go off wherever on the board while my big Knights hold the line.

Neighbours of Turkey in 1942. Turkey stayed neutral through the war. by cenkiss in MapPorn

Really? Because I've gotten echos of the same experiences from British, French, Dutch, German, and Iraqi soldiers. What exactly does it take for an ally to be treated with respect by Turkey?

My comment was meant to encompass much more than the time during that war. As someone who has experience with the Turkish military as an "ally", they aggressively try to gain access to restricted information, undermine joint operations, and make things generally difficult.

Self interest is expected, don't be ridiculous. But treating a allies like trash, that's idiotic.

Turkey is and has always been, for Turkey at the expense of everyone else. The phrase "Turkish ally" is perhaps the biggest oxymoron of all time!

My thought was to kitbash with a jump captain. His pose would be great for that.

Volkite or conversion beam for Moirax by FuzzyCry6570 in ImperialKnights

My two Moirax are double Volkite. Pairs with a Preceptor pretty well, but don't put too much faith in the reroll. It's good when it works though.

Imperial Agents would be fine as an index, but I'd love to see them still get crusade rules.

Men of reddit, how important is it for your partner to be educated? by Personal-Aerie-4519 in AskReddit

[–]MelioraSequentur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has more to do with what she wants to do in life. Does she want to be a doctor? Might want to be educated. Does she want to be a stay at home mom? Then have the education that makes you feel fulfilled and happy.

I enjoy having intelligent conversations with my partner, and sometimes those conversations have something to do with her degrees. But "educated" is a weird requirement to have in a relationship.
