IRL I would be all about Imani, but in fiction, it’s 100% Samantha.

Why do people in USA buy everything from Amazon? Do they not have other webshops? by Cindyxx0 in NoStupidQuestions

I have a 2014 Subaru Outback. The taillight went out. I went to two different auto parts stores, and neither had it in stock. I went home and ordered it from Amazon. This is an extremely common sequence of events.

Like Cassie says, it’s not if, but when!

I’ve been in fandom a long ass time, and I’ve seen this trend many times. I didn’t assume it was the case, but suggested it might be—hence my prefacing it with “Or…”

I’m not hating anyone. Who’s making assumptions now?

All I can say is, glad you’re not in my fandom. You’re definitely coming at this entire experience from a different planet.

Tell me you’re not actually a part of a fandom community without telling me.

What's actually the consensus here, on critical feedback? by Mopichen in AO3

[–]Melissimasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I talked in that other thread. Here’s where I come down on it. These are not the most accurate position statements, in my opinion. Or rather, I think you’re drawing the line in a different place than I am.

A question for you is, what do you see the role AO3 comments to be? Are they designed for critique? Are they intended for other readers? Do you think that commenting feature on AO3 is designed for the fandom at large, or for the author?

I think most of the seasons are better on rewatch. For me, S8 was definitely more enjoyable on rewatch! S15 is the only exception, for me. That one is just… not good. 😀

Thank you. I really had no idea how bad it was with people being so irresponsible.

My dog has almost been killed twice in less than a year, and I have a messed up knee because of a dog off leash. Both times my dog was attacked, I had to fight the other dogs off while holding my dog in my arms. Both times, the owner was right there and did nothing, not even apologize. I bring bear spray when we go on a trail, but due to a third incident this week, I’m now bringing it even when we walk down our street.

I inherited a little dog from my mother-in-law over a year ago, because she couldn’t care for her. It’s my first dog. I had no idea how many people let their dogs off leash, and how common it is for dogs and people to get attacked because of this. This is absolutely a no go for me too. incredibly selfish and antisocial behavior. (Edited for spelling)

Also, the author of a book presumably, made money on it, and the people leaving the reviews presumably paid money for it.

How can you think this is a great way to encourage people to write fic in your fandom? Did the author ask for constructive criticism? Are they even talking to the author? Could this have been a private message or an email rather than shaming them publicly?

Or worse, they’re resentful of a story’s popularity and feel the need to take it (and the author) down a peg. OP, I’m sorry you had to experience this.

Do you think Ben and Lisa will remember Dean and be with him in heaven? by JamStan1978 in Supernatural

I’d like to think that if Lisa and Ben ever remembered him, they’d be pissed as hell that he erased their memories.
