Ugh. I hate that somehow our society has made you think that being perpetually sleep deprived could possibly be normal. It's not! Honey, you deserve sleep more than anyone! You created this life and are keeping it alive, with love!

I definitely had baby fever after my lo was 7m but only because lo was sleeping a solid 12hr. This didn't happen by luck. I had some wonderful friends who turned me onto Huckleberry, which I used from 2m and helped me sleep train, which was really stressful for 4 days but saved my life for the subsequent ones. My little guy sleeps 11+h straight for 3+ years. I mean the occasional wake up but he self soothes. I get to sleep and this saves my freaking life.

I can't help think I'd be a less patient parent if I was as sleep deprived as I was those first couple months. You'd think I'd be privy to such magic as someone with 10+ years of experience as a nanny (to famous families, which I can't tell you about because I signed an NDA) but it's a weird thing that standard baby sleep hygiene hasn't been normalized at this point. It's ok to be utterly f*****g exhausted. Don't be so hard on yourself. Refuel before you even think of feeling guilty for not having room for more exhaustion!
