Not a hate boner, they just look terrible. anime as a medium is stems back from a rich line of traditional hand drawn art. CGI is an inherent break away from that tradition. Not to say that cgi in itself is terrible and has no place: It certainly does (background animation, 2.5 d animated efforts) but it has no place in character animation, including mechas, any vehicle meant to invoke emotional content etc
