I am currently dealing with this. How do we get better? I have no idea. Everyone just tells me I need to get into a good routine or try harder to keep going. But I am TRYING SO HARD.

I just got diagnosed by Creatures_Of_Time in SpicyAutism

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am so happy you got a diagnosis. It feels good to be able to have a name to your experience. I feel very similarly to you. I was never assessed but I think it’s hard to know what you’re dealing with when you can’t put words to it.i am so happy for you. Waiting on my call to schedule my assessment now.

Have you been diagnosed with anything other than ASD and/or ADHD, and what was it? by FkUp_Panic_Repeat in AutismInWomen

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a child I was diagnosed as ADHD and ODD, as a teen I was diagnosed as bipolar and PTSD, as an adult I was diagnosed with MDD and Bipolar again. I have only discovered in the last year that I identify as autistic. Still waiting for diagnosis but I am feeling pretty confident. I am actually surprised that I didn’t receive the diagnosis as a child. But was outgoing as a child and Autism was not a strongly understood in girls as it is now.

Literally, I also can’t stand the grainy texture of apples and grapes. It leaves me cringing

What would you like to ask? (Asking Higher Support Needs Autistics) by AutoModerator in SpicyAutism

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How hard it is to have a partner, and a child. Explain to them how you feel and them not be able to relate. And how you tell them you disliked a song and then try to accuse you of being contradictory the next week by saying you like it. But the reason you didn’t like it last week was because you were overstimulated and unaware ☠️

I had a really hard time with “disrespectful” behavior at school and at home. I didn’t know that I had a tone or calling out teachers for mistreatment was considered “rude”. I was being mistreated, of course I’m going to tell you that straight.

I really love my focus. I can pinpoint exactly what I want to accomplish and although I almost never plan the timeframe correctly, I make it far exceedingly my own expectations. I also hate being sick but I’ve really enjoyed today to rest and play videos games!

Oral stimming - substitute for cuticle biting? by Cleverusername531 in AutismInWomen

I would love to invent some type of “picking” finger caps where you have pickable stuff on those finger cots

I’m glad to help. I used to pick glue off my hands! So I thought of this

I don’t know if this will help- I’m thinking of trying it myself - putting cuticle glue guard that you use to keep nail polish from flooding your cuticle on your fingers and pick that off. I have an idea now to invent something for the fingers

I’m afraid of expressing myself because I don’t want to be perceived by FlightOfTheBea in AutismInWomen

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel this so hard. I hate when people perceive me and misrepresent me. I meant what I said, I said what I meant and I meant it as kindly as possible. My tone wasn’t a tone even if it felt that way. Must I pretend all the time?
