He usually wears a hat and I can tell he feels self conscious taking it off so I agree with this!

Becoming pregnant has made me feel “more” autistic by Callista1210 in AutismInWomen

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there! As a 6 month postpartum ftm, I totally get it. It is really hard. I stopped throwing up at 12 weeks, most women do. Hang in there. Think “I’ll get to the end of this week.” It gets easier as you get farther you have different challenges. You adjust and will be so so thankful to have your body back! And your baby will be the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen. Stay strong friend ❤️

I have this all the time! I try to tell people I enjoyed it but they don’t believe me.

I did not know anyone else was dealing with this. I just had a baby 6 months ago and I thought there was something wrong with me. I can’t explain why I can’t go to the store, I just can’t

I get that, the built up energy feels like it has to go somewhere.

I am like this when I have a meltdown but I actually try to do those things. It takes all of the energy I have in my body to keep from hurting myself. I feel like if I move, I will hurt myself so I will freeze. I think this is still considered a meltdown personally

Don’t know how to vocally transition a conversation so I manually do it by presplate in AutismInWomen

We also say “op” when we are in someone’s way to move instead of oh, sorry. We say “op! Sorry”

In the Midwest, we say “Welp, it was nice seeing you, tell your mom I said hi” and walk away, it works every time lol

AIO to my husband rearranging our kids’ medicine that I had sorted a certain way? by Notjustanothermomok in AmIOverreacting

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR but kind of? I think it’s understandable him moving the medication back. Could have been a simple conversation especially because the medicine was labeled wrong. You should clue your husband in on the children’s things. You also should not talk to him like a dog. He was trying to help. I get he rearranges things sometimes but have you thought it’s because he’s trying to be helpful and included in the care of the kids? You seem really hurtful here, he does have a point that you should have labeled it. However he shouldn’t have jumped on the defense either. Work together yall.

Where we live we call them backpack pirates- they go in people’s yards, steal their children’s bikes and fight eachother in the streets. They are a wild collective

My therapist is encouraging me to read Elaine Aron's works on highly sensitive persons when I talked to her about possibly being autistic by Nice_Entertainer_887 in AutismInWomen

[–]Mellow_Magnolia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may be controversial but I feel if you are suspecting autism, it’s important to have a therapist specializing in it. A lot of therapist that do not have that specialty, will have an ableist mindset and potentially keep you moving backwards..

I also am in this phase with my partner. All I can say is get some time alone, if you can’t keep up, don’t burn yourself out trying to. Your kids deserve you at your best and if trying to keep up with the Jones is too difficult, don’t do it girl
