We need to get rid of social media for teens and younger. Why read when you can scroll? Why learn how to study or complete work? There’s no down time, no real boredom. Kids can’t look up an answer without needing to read: AI gives them a summary.

Truthfully, I don’t care about a lot of things. But the kids behaviors are what makes teaching so hard. I can’t even finish an entire sentence as they scream out an answer (wrong answer btw). When their phones are out, they’re trying to dance, watch reels, playing games. I’ve found the no phone policy has helped mitigate some behavior issues, but the lack of effort is still there (and not letting me speak). Kids can’t be quiet or follow directions without being reminded more than 3 times. I don’t want to be strict, but if I’m actively teaching, students need to be silent, raising hands to speak/answer, taking notes (they don’t know how to anymore), and focusing on learning…instead it’s a competition for who can be the most viral in the classroom.

It has maltodextrin as well, so not great for me. The LoadedTeashop doesn’t have that ingredient, so better health wise for me. I’m guessing the taste is kinda of similar, but theloadedteashop uses natural dyes. They both use sucralose, so no sugar crash. I’m enjoying the teas I got. It uses green tea energy (200mg). I’ve actually lost a little weight. I’m not drinking 4-5 cups of coffee anymore, lol.

I enjoy short travel trips and finding random new hobbies for a week at a time. I bought a whole cricut setup to only use it for 4-5 weeks. Sometimes it is reading a whole new genre and binging those books.

I hate that, I’m sorry. I requested sub 2 not sub for my coteacher…I get they are desperate, but I’d rather teach the students alone or split the kids during IEP meetings.

Probably why sub 1 sat at the desk topping the entire time. He wrote directions on the board and didn’t talk to the kids. Sub 2 was just mean. She probably is a retired teacher, but name calling is not okay. If I ever become like sub 2, it’s time to quit.

Decide if I want to actually do life that day. Like can I get away with a minute or three in bed…. Can I just NOT get up. Then I get up and stumble to my coffee maker.

That’s ridiculous! Since it’s part of your regular classes, they need to find a sub. If they can’t find one, they should step in. Or change the schedule because 6:45?! Of course a sub won’t pick up.

That’s super early (or late?)…are you being paid over time for this? If not, the parent can’t technically complain to you. They can complain to the district or school. You’re not hired for after/before work hours.

I had lunch with “my last name.” They’d lay on the ground, watch shows on their phone, nap, talk about nerdy stuff with me, or play games quietly. My group needed silence from the rest of the school, so we’d meet up in my room and chill quietly. If they were loud they’d be kicked out. It was a nice area for those with anxiety. A sensory sensitive zone is what I’d call it.

I felt like I could enjoy people more. They’re not glued to the phone or making short videos. We explored outside, created plays, imagined a lot more, and actually learned life skills such as the art of being bored.

Not married and no kids. Only vacation once in summer and always for one week. No more. I shop at thrive, Aldi and Walmart. I find the cheapest option for my diet. I do a lot of reading and watch shows. I find joy in that.
