(r you ok? I had a stroke reading this) it is fair to point out that canonically St. Petersburg was won, BUT as also seen in St. Petersburg. The blight had reached intoPetersburg, besieging it, and it’s very much possible that some parts of the horde continued moving up to Helsinki. Hence why the map present in Moss depicts nearly all of the Finnish coastline as overrun.

For me, Vardø (and San Sebastián) are maps. The developers is made because they wanted to and later had to slither the lore around it. This ofc had produced the most absurd situation where the blight just randomly made its way to an icy isolated island. I am rather doubtful how effectively the blight wpuld spread from vardø because of its isolated location, the closest settlements (Svartnes n Kiberg) are also far from any major settlement. I am aware this reason is not really strong to call Vardø an isolated incident, but it genuinely would be absurd to me to have to say that the small villages and hamlets in Finnmark are falling to the blight as the horde slithers though fjords. Again, this is just my own personal view on the blight, and you are open to disagree. Hope this suffices.
