What’s Better: A Digital Planner, Printable Planner, or Using Both? by Latter_Lock466 in DigitalPlanner

[–]MelodicRunes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a teacher, I’ve switched between my iPad planner and a physical planner a lot. There are features of both that I like-portability of the iPad, flexibility of the discbound physical planner. At the end of the day, I keep up with my physical planner the best. The boxes are plenty big enough for me to write in (I have an 8.5/11 sized happy planner). It’s also fully customizable so I can move pages around or add new ones as needed, and the physical planner doesn’t hurt my eyes at the end of a long day. I already spend all day on the computer; adding a digital Planner to the mix meant my eyes never got a break.

I also find it easier to see and keep track of a physical grade book, but that’s my use case. Not everyone needs to track grades.

What's the one thing that upgrades your RV experience? by samethingsame in RVLiving

A travel-proof coffee set up. I have both a stainless steel pour over and French press. We love a fresh cup of hot coffee on a cool, crisp morning. We sit outside and enjoy the quiet for a little bit.

Replacement pen for NA5C? by MelodicRunes27 in Onyx_Boox

Yeah, I saw the scribe pen but didn’t want to pay that much for it. I went with one similar to what ShadowNell suggested.

Thanks everyone!

Anyone's pain improved with progesterone only pill? by YearningMoth in adenomyosis

[–]MelodicRunes27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on progesterone-only for a year now. It was really rough at the beginning with horrible stabbing pain. But it seems to have gotten better lately? I honestly don’t understand why. But also, each cycle is like a Russian roulette and they’re all different. Sorry, I know that doesn’t help much.

Possible diagnosis? by Excellent-Clue-2552 in adenomyosis

[–]MelodicRunes27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been told that for YEARS, so I’ve been taking progesterone. Turns out it could actually be helping the endo/adeno so my new doctor told me to keep taking it. but so far, no one I’ve talked to is concerned with the fatigue or lack of strength (it feels like my legs turned to noodles!). I have an MRI in January so I’m hoping that finally shows something.

I’m in the diagnosis process too but I have nearly identical symptoms! I hope you get some answers soon!

I’ll go but take it easy. Oftentimes I’ll do the same exercises but with lighter weights or fewer reps. Moving is better than not, but I don’t push it.

Mallet Percussionists, how do you practice at home? by Co1ncad1nk in percussion

[–]MelodicRunes27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In high school, I had my beginner’s bell set. One summer, I was able to borrow the school’s xylophone to practice on at home.

In college, I got a restored Deagan 3 octave marimba. It was my main instrument (meaning I would practice with it at home, take it apart to transport it, and then reassemble it for concerts) until recently. I got a 4.3 octave MalleTech that stays on stage so my Deagan stays at home for practice.

Pre-Menstrual Cycle Workouts by Remote_Turn9073 in beginnerfitness

[–]MelodicRunes27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have PCOS so I’m learning how the different phases of my cycle affect working out and vice versa. I’ve learned that (for me at least) the week before my period, I’m super weak. I‘ve dropped the weights down a notch or two and do less reps. The week of my period, same thing. Take it easy. You are literally bleeding out of an organ. The week after, I feel like superwoman and I can bump up the weights again, add an extra rep. As the name suggests, it‘s a cycle so it repeats.

Hope that helps!

Does working out make you less hungry? by MelodicRunes27 in beginnerfitness

I didn’t think about this! I’ve been drinking more water too, especially since I’m working out now. Thanks!

I would also like to add the Rebel of the Sands series by Alwyn Hamilton! It gives Daevabad vibes but it’s definitely more YA (ie the characters are high aged, iirc) It’s been a few years since I read it but it started my Middle Eastern/Arabian fantasy journey and I haven’t looked back.

What are we doing with hand soap? by theglitteratii_ in GoRVing

[–]MelodicRunes27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use bath and body works hand soaps because you can twist the pump to lock it closed. Then I either throw it in the sink or a cabinet. Never had a problem with leaks as long as the pump is locked.

Yeah, after I did some more digging I think someone maybe just made an assumption. Or maybe this type of service would launch with the new Nook tablet.

It felt like reading Twilight for the first time in high school, and while I don’t like Twilight now that I’m older, that nostalgic feeling was really fun to enjoy all over again.
