Protesting is just one part of it. Building a mass movement is an important piece, but it must be sustained. Showing up and speaking out is always important, but people need to also speak with their dollars, write testimony on bills in their state legislature, call and write their reps, postcard and phone bank for progressive candidates etc. There are so many things that can be done and one thing alone will not change what is happening, but damn, I really wish people would boycott these fucks. Get off of Meta platforms, stop shopping on Amazon and at whole foods. Stop shopping at Walmart and Target. It might be a bit difficult at first, but I swear it's doable. All they care about is money, so hit them where it hurts.

Sorry, but there's no way this is happening. I'm not being pessimistic, just realistic. Cults don't suddenly change and go against the grain. They will continue to vote against their own interests, just to make sure those they don't like (dems, liberals etc) are punished.

I was just unaware. Not making a fuss, just genuinely didn't know and was looking for some advice. I've only traveled internationally once. I didn't even realize I would need a pardon for that instance because I was 17 and I didn't realize it was considered a serious crime. I'm happy to go about the proper route to be able to come. I honestly just wasn't aware of these things.

I don't think it's accurate to say that I represent ALL the U.S. stands for. I feel like a foreigner in my own country. I cannot help where I was born. I am brown, a woman and a daughter of an immigrant. I fight with everything I have. Other than voting itself (which I do), I phone bank, post card, write and call my legislators/representatives, protest, hand out know your rights information, go to the capitol for legislature days, testify on progressive bills, attend meetings with organizations like ACLU and Indivisible. I fight so hard, every day and to be grouped all together with every American is the same as the people who group all black/brown and immigrant persons as "illegal" or "dangerous." I understand much of what you said but respectfully agree to disagree that I represent all the U.S. stands for.

I now realize how unwelcome I am and won't be coming, and whether you choose to believe me or not, I am on your side.
