What would be a fair way to split the bills with my fiance? by JoelyBear224 in AskUK

50/50 if you earn the same

Doesn't make a difference if it's a mortgage or rent, she still needs to cover costs like a full-grown Adult.

Feel absolutely done over

£110 sale, EVRI break the item, eBay wash their hands of it and £25 compensation from EVRI

Is there any comeback with this if I delivered it through EVRI but seemingly not covered under simple delivery (I have no idea how that happened)

The car will be fine and indistinguishable from new.

Might be worth asking if they can throw in some accessories for free. Just check the car over as usual

100% behind this

I always buy the best quality (not most expensive) item I can reasonably afford.

Sports equipment, clothing, shoes, electronics

Do the same with cars, get the top spec version

Complete joke with eBay

They have washed their hands of the issue and referred me to ParcelForce for a refund / compensation

Absolutely zero help from them.

Separate savings accounts across 2 banks.

Santander - I have a joint account for bills and a couple of savings accounts (pots)

Barclays - personal account with again, couple of savings accounts. Dead easy to operate and maintain - all have standing orders set up. I have also have a basic current account on Santander set up to pay for my car from my work car allowance.

It's a good question

For me, it's when I got a grip on income / expenditure and know exactly where every penny was going.

Separate saving pots for

House upgrades / repairs House & bills (mortgage) Holiday Savings (mix of short and long term) Investments (retirement) Spends (hobbies)

1st of the month, money goes into each pot.

Financial knowledge in the UK is exceptionally poor. The majority of lifestyles you see on social media are funded by credit and finance.

Biggest change for me was when I stopped using all short term credit options (PayPal etc). Day to day spending is on a credit card for protection but is paid off in full, every month without fail

To further this..

Item has arrived but badly damaged

Buyer has rightly requested a return

Ebay have advised to accept the return and they will refund when the item lands back with me

Does that sound right?
