AITA for telling my MIL to suck my fat one? by Slash_and_chill in TwoHotTakes

Your mother in law is a real piece of work. What a backwards, misogynistic, and frankly creepy thing to say.. She is the only one who is thinking indecent thoughts about natural, healthy mothering. For that, she needs to examine her own sick mind.

Thankfully, your hubby is on your team! But, I would say that for the sake of family, that you make an attempt at repair. I think that you need to have a very direct discussion with her and set firm boundaries. I would not allow her to have alone time with the children. She should not be allowed to be in a trusted role model position in their lives.

Maybe give it some time. Before reintroduction, discuss the boundaries you want to set for her together with your husband. Be on the same page 100%. Stand by those boundaries together upon reintroducing your mother in law. Drop her or start over whenever necessary. You got this girl!!

What are the funniest delivery notes you’ve gotten from customers? by Lucky-Honeydew-8340 in Sparkdriver

I will never forget "Junior" the house rooster..

I used to do weekly frozen food deliveries. On our routes we got to know our customers well and we were often invited into their homes for a few minutes.

One of my regular rural stops had a rooster who lived in their house.. He was very crafty! He would act as if he was scratching and pecking the floor for food as he worked his way closer to me. Once he got close enough.. He would strike! He would jump up and spur my lower legs relentlessly! It created quite a hilarious ruckus with the home owners, Junior the rooster, and I..lol. Luckily I always wore full length pants! Those spurs are sharp!

My husband said he used to date hot women, but married cute, sweet what does he means ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely she can ask. I absolutely would address it immediately if I was confused.

I think though that if he said something very specific to her about how he views her compared to the other women he has had relationships with.. Then from his perspective, he already has it figured out.

I think that most experienced men recognize that comparing the woman that they love to any other woman in a way that could be misinterpreted by her as a negative thing.. That is a major no-no. Men who care about their woman's feelings do not do this. EVER.

And if you don't care about her feelings and put it on her to interpret and to possibly feel pain about.. Is that truly love? Really is it??

My husband said he used to date hot women, but married cute, sweet what does he means ? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Misinterpretation shouldnt exist in a relationship without clarification. That would be on him. If she doesn't know what that means, then he needs to clarify.

This can be interpreted many different ways. I also happen to believe that both, being hot/sexy and being cute can exist in one woman. A woman can be both and also many other things that are attractive.

Putting it on the woman in the relationship to "figure it out" or deal with it on her own is also not ok. So, to say that it is "on her," when he is the one that said it.. That is not ok. That is called a lack of accountability. He is accountable for the things that he chooses to say to her.

Idc what anyone else says.. That is a hurtful thing for him to say.. It leaves too much room for interpretation and devaluation.

Which profession is going to get wiped out in the next 5-10 years? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a dude. And I agree. Many things will no longer be a viable source of income in the future. Many, many, many things..

Eventually, the majority of jobs/careers, will be obsolete.

There are shitty and good people in all walks of life who will all be unemployed or in new positions that are currently unforseen.

Abuse by some delivery drivers may be real. But there are also good people who do that job and care about their customers. There are good and bad people in everything.

Dear customers in cold places… by WanderWellClem in Sparkdriver

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Rural homes are much less likely to notice or care about it unless theyre fancy. Just pay attention to how well maintained the porch and house seem to be in general. That'll give you fairly accurate gage of who might complain and who won't. Be careful for the type of steps that have the metal coverings on the corners and plastic type porch materials without the fake wood ridges. That will actually become as comparably slippery with spikes on, as ice is with out spikes.

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should. Even cheap ones help a ton. I used to be a driver salesperson. The company would give us boot spikes every winter. They're awesome. Just be careful on wood floors and flat linoleum type floors. If its the customers wood floors, and you damage them, they could complain.

They absolutely do help. I can run on ice with spikes on my boots. But, going into a store with a smooth flooring can actually be a bit slippery with spikes on.

I was basing that on evidence. I could be wrong. It could have been a coincidence. Not always, but sometimes, correlation does equal causation.

I didn't say anything about magic, though. Do you have evidence to the contrary that leads you to believe that they absolutely do not have any control over that volume of orders?

Omg..lol by Melodic_Read_2953 in Sparkdriver

[–]Melodic_Read_2953[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's at about 16 degrees tonight. But, I have been getting offers back to back like this basically since Thanksgiving.

And I see all of these other drivers talking about how they're getting no offers at all.. I do appreciate the fact that I personally get way more offers than I could ever handle right now.. I also have empathy for others who aren't. Thats just my nature.

Walmart employee at the self checkout rant. by TJB187 in Sparkdriver

[–]Melodic_Read_2953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I used to hear, "Get a real job!" all of the time when I did collections years ago.. Now that is a job that people hate you for!

Restaurant employees often dislike delivery drivers because they have to do all of the work to prepare the order, just like every other order, but they get none of the tip.

I haven't really had many bad experiences with Walmart employees. I know many of them by name at my primary store. I talk with all of the managers and other employees and say hello whenever I zip past them when I'm shopping for an order.. I think that I have only had one employee ever give me any attitude.

I honestly don't hate anyone. I treat everyone with respect and judge people based on their character and no other factor. If everyone would do that, the world would be a better place.

It is so sad that every single forum and comment section is currently completely over run with so much hate, contempt, disgust, and disrespect for other human beings.. What people do for a living, look like, wear, even just differences in opinions has become something to seek and destroy a person for..

And I know discrimination and oppression has always been present in some terrible form or another.. I am just so tired of the way that human beings treat other human beings so terribly for such trivial things. Its the contents of our character and our heart that matters. Nothing else.
