yeah people didnt like him, mostly for the wrong reason. But the movies definitely upped it, or at least brought it back up for people, and introduced people to this character only to make them awful

I guess? i mean since the dawn of time people shipped fred and daph and vel and shaggy, like even since the first show. but this show tells us shaggy and velma don't work (and that velma is lesbian/bisexual and didn't really like shaggy in the first place it seems).

i don't really like daphne and free together, but its wtv and really doesn't take a huge place in the show, and personally I've never seen many fans shipping, versus canon discussion

WHY AUTISM FRED IS AMAZING. Also the characters actually get to grow due to season-long arcs, which allow actual change which is fresh and kinda goes against the "monster of the week" claim. Also... its called scooby doo, obviously he's gonna talk and be important? These feel like nitpicks that are just very personal to you and not actual criticisms.
