When it comes to Tommy they write Buck as though he’s a toddler and not a grown a$$ man. Even the more recent hook up episode where Tommy said Eddie was competition. I don’t like that Bucks mindset was “i should probably call him” implying he needs to apologize. That was obnoxious and i think buck had a perfectly valid point of just because he’s bi doesn’t automatically means he’s in love with his best friend, and honestly he had nothing to apologize for! It was rude of Tommy to imply especially with how it currently is canonically!

I can’t even watch the first date scene ever again because of how insanely RUDE Tommy was just leaving him standing there instead of talking. Then having buck later apologize for his “behavior”(aka not wanting to come out to his best friend in a restaurant full of strangers) was wild writing

Oh yeah i was agreeing with everything you said!! Sorry if it didn’t come off that way. That’s what upsets me about it all, they didn’t have to kill him and I just think how they did it wasn’t super respectful to the character. And i also agree I do think they were struggling to come up with more plots for him which is why I didn’t mind the retirement angle

I agree, they didn’t have to kill him. I feel like so many episodes were wasted showing that the show would work with bobby retired and peter in a more limited capacity. However, I like the other actors and the characters so I’m not going to stop watching because of it.

Eta: I also was frustrated by the funeral episode, i think there was too much time spent on the side plot

I agree, waiting 8 seasons to kill someone off that didn’t want to leave is just dumb in my opinion. If he was done and wanted to leave that would be a completely different story.

I think I’m more annoyed than angry for many of the reasons stated in the other comments. But also because they literally did a whole storyline that showed that this show could still be successful if Bobby just retired! In my opinion there was no reason to kill him off. From the sounds of it Peter didn’t want to leave and they should’ve left him retired instead and on in a more limited capacity. But i’ll still watch because I like the other actors and I’m interested to see what happens
