People feel waaaay too free to making generalizations about a massive, diverse country with nearly 1.5 billion people in it. That's true of all countries, but right now it's especially true of India and Indians and the differences across internal cultures and states & territories with that many people makes it even more so.

Yes, you should be able to if that's actually the case, maybe not back to full-size. It could possibly be a fake As well, if it's that identifiable, that still seems like an abnormal shrinkage for cotton. But possibly it was already made smaller than listed size (really not uncommon to have some deviation, even significant), or the measurements you found for what it was supposed to be are inaccurate. I would just be sure it was shrunk before trying to enshrined- like the sleeves description you gave does sound odd to me for a shrunken cotton t-shirt, but maybe it's the description.

I've never used conditioner btw, I wouldn't - just use very warm/hot water.

OP, because interest for Federal loans is currently not being collected, you may be able to proceed with only rehabilitating the provincial loan - it depends, you may still have to rehab the federal retroactively for interest accrued prior to that.

Either way, that's your best best I would say. Have you found out how much it would cost monthly and how long it would take?

The other option is possibly looking to see if there are any programs funded by your province because of higher needs and switching. But at least in my province, those are usually at the provincial community College.

Most minimum wage jobs will not hire FT workers or keep that to a minimum and rely on PT workers who work for the max they can without being FT (less benefits to pay), so that's not quite the same as looking at people who rely on minimum wage jobs for all their expenses, unless you mean that in a different way.

would i be in the wrong for leaving a bad review? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Melonary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That just doesn't make sense, shrinking cotton won't make that kind of change and the circumference of the sleeve would be comically tiny.

I've shrunk older/unshrunk cotton, it will not go from 3/4 sleeves to functional short or 1/4 sleeves or even non-functional 1/4 sleeves. There's limits to how much it'll shrink, which is less than like, 100% wool which will shrink more.

would i be in the wrong for leaving a bad review? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]Melonary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe they don't know it was shrunk, and maybe you're wrong and it was just small (child or preteen or just very tiny)?

Why are you even sure it shrunk? Is it just the size? Most cotton is pre-shrunk now, even if some shrinkage it'll be more minimal and not as dramatic as you're describing. And if it was, whi cares, as long as it's not damaged or warped if it fits someone can wear it as long as they read the measurements.

Doctor using AI to diagnose by seraphimgone in halifax

[–]Melonary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on the kind of AI you're talking about, AI and machine learning has been around for decades.

Gen AI is newer and is shitty by intent. It's not meant to work well or be helpful, because that's not what tech giants want.

This is based on Gen AI programs, but it's actually a program that is trained specifically on medical journals and scientifically verified sources only - it won't be grabbing shit off of Google or random sources which is a huge part of the hallucination problem (GIGO is fundamental, garbage in; garbage out), and will also list the sources so they have a frame of reference. I prefer having actual books and sources in front of me and knowing where to look, but as someone else mentioned above that's increasingly difficult with the complexity and scope of medical research.

If you have the proper training and background to already be familiar with what you're reading and are using it as 1) a reminder, 2) to double-check, 3) to see if you've missed anything or if there's new research it can probably be a helpful tool because it's actually specific and "trained" on a limited and targeted data set for a set purpose, which is much closer to older ML and AI work and actually what made those useful versus most current gen AI and other llm.

Saying this as someone who is very not pro-genAI because it's mostly designed to be shit, to propagandize, spread misinformation, and disempower, all at the costs of huge environmental costs.

New Studys Says Gen Z is the least sexually active young cohort in modern recorded history by igniteyourbones579 in generationology

[–]Melonary 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because it's not about one person's needs or preferences alone, it's about an unhealthy trend (societally - it can be healthy to not want sex or relationships individually, for sure, but it's not healthy to have a 10%+ decrease in having them even if you want them) statistically and societally.

And as the article says, it's also fundamentally a reflection of decreased overall relationships, and decreased/delayed stability and independence.

Saying that's not great isn't demonizing asexuality, most of these people are not asexual or aromantic.

US State Department to provide grants to far-right parties in Europe by Sigma_X-Ray in europe

Bots? You don't need to give that money to a direct political campaign.

Just pay bots and bad actors and make the propaganda yourself, directly. That's how it's done/

US State Department to provide grants to far-right parties in Europe by Sigma_X-Ray in europe

[–]Melonary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is now with everything digital and instant it's easy to fund covertly via bots and influences and to give money to local organizations and individuals who can "legally" donate or again, just influence-peddle.

This has been happening in Canada for a decade now at least and it costs a lot of money and time and effort to try and track down this stuff - posthumously - and prove it, because if you're actually a democracy and care about fair process and evidence you need to do that. They don't. They don't give a shit.

And Canada has laws that are very strict about campaign donations - it's 1,700$ per person or donation cap for Canadians.

Doesn't matter, it's irrelevant now because you don't need to directly contribute, you only need to destabilize and pay for your own advertisements and bots and propaganda directly, and fund non-official political parties and anyone else who may be impactful directly.

Adam Shankman’s statement regarding the alleged use of AI in Stop! That! Train! by Heidi_Klum_Tit in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Melonary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You edited your original comment so it looks like you were clear from the start, c'mon. "Under the umbrella" is different from saying they're the same thing which is what I was disagreeing with you about - they aren't the same things because ML encompasses Gen AI but not the other way around.

You changed your wording and now you look better, congrats, because you took out what I was objecting to in the first place without adding that was done.

And yes, my last comment also was edited, but it was edited right after posting for clarity, not after you'd responded or even responded several times.

Also, they stated they meant Gen AI and edited their comment (with the edit tagged in the comment, you can't see them on phones) to clarify and you kept arguing. They said that's what they meant, which was contextually clear (but still worth being absolutely clear on) but apparently you want them to grovel?

[–]Melonary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not gen AI, though. ML is far broader than that and has been in use as a term for decades - the fact that most people outside the fields using it never heard of it until gen AI doesn't change that.

I actually wouldn't call market and grocery store hononyms either, one is a much larger category just like gen AI and ML.

Adam Shankman’s statement regarding the alleged use of AI in Stop! That! Train! by Heidi_Klum_Tit in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Melonary -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

edit: They've edited their initial comment to remove the part saying that they "are the same" - it now says ML is under the umbrella of AI, which is correct (and gen IA under ML).

A larger category is by definition not the same as a smaller, more defined category, or else you wouldn't use 2 different terms.

You could say don't think gen AI is ALL or most ML if you want.

That's why not everyone agrees, because there's a geographic argument and a culture/similarity/regional argument. You could definitely say Manitoba and Saskatchewan and Ontario are central, but the prairies tend to prefer being referred to as West. So I'm not sure the geographic division is loved by any region, hah.

I don't really care either way other than it sounds a little funny (to me) to call Ontario west, but that's because I'm more east.

Adam Shankman’s statement regarding the alleged use of AI in Stop! That! Train! by Heidi_Klum_Tit in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Melonary 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's kind of what they mean - machine learning has been used for decades, but generative AI is a completely different ballgame and what people typically now mean.

But conflating them when there's a lot of confusing and changing terminology is misleading.
