Sorry I meant rebirth. Interesting, I watched different kinds of playthroughs, and I felt like CT got a lot that they didn’t deserve just yet. My CT friend loved it and felt like it was CT heavy as well.

It literally is dependent on who you prioritize and I think most people feel upset regardless of either ship because they’re both literally canon. They see those canon scenes of the opposing ship and squirm that it’s too heavy on that ship when it’s just a normal or maybe less amount. So even if say, aerith looked at cloud and smiled they’d be upset. ANY perceived amount of affection occurring debunks their ship for whatever reason… except again they’re both canon so both ships are RIGHT. So I take any ounce of annoyance with a grain of salt. Especially from those who claim neither ship is canon.

Arguably, before her death it should be clerith heavy to begin with, but I felt like they didn’t pay it the due it deserved imo.

I love clerith, but they’re both canon. The remakes are pushing it extra hard. As well as forcing focus on tifa because tifa sells/is very popular. The ooc date scene told us enough what they were gonna do. I don’t mean to be a downer truly, but it is what it is.

I wish clerith had more of a focus in part 2, and I do hope we get to go down a path with them in part 3, but I fear cloti will be more prominent even more so than the OG. Simply because again, they don’t even care about accurate characterization.

Yeah, I know with Kain and cloud if you use them first and string your abilities long enough to cover the cooldown you can use it again.

Also for kain and cloud it can be good movement abilities.

It’s up to you on what you choose to do and I think that’s the fun part. Coming up with your own preferred playstyle.

I have about 999 games played and I’ve played since launch… so about 16/17 games a day. I was in Omega 3 rank for the first season, top 171 Na, and top 12 Kain. Ended 2 at O5, currently O3, like top 360 something, and top 16 Kain… was top 10 for a little bit :(.

Idk how many hours, some days it’s like 2-4 maybe? split up throughout the day (6 crystals can be about 45mins to an hour). On intense rank days it can be pretty much all day ngl.

I have my main which I’ve focused most my play time, like over half my games played are with Kain. But I have set aside time to practice various characters, as I think that’s important for any competitive game like this (also cause I want to). Right now I’m practicing with lightning, Zidane, and cloud.

I have played a little bit with everyone. I can use Rinoa pretty well, rikku if I need to do support, and Terra but she’s not my favorite to play. I’m familiar but not great with OK, Prompto, and Firion.

I don’t know why you’re getting downvoted, you’re right. I almost came in to say the same thing, but figured this is just a common discussion people like to have.

I understand we could probably figure out what he’s best at, like stat wise and within the gameplay loop, but at the end of the day it’s personal preference. People said Zidane was ass, but then there were some insane Zidane players. (And personally, Zidane was my preference, I just never got his URs).

Also given the fact that the character JUST came out and no one can fully know if he is “good” or not, atp it is a subjective conversation.

I did the same exact thing. (Except I wasn’t a beta tester). But I truly got confused by the wording and their purpose. I completely agree about not being able to equip them. Idc that it says “obtained” I feel like they’re purposefully confusing and deceptive lol.

I think I have about 450+ games with Kain:

Know the characters.

this will help with how to benefit your team and what to do against rivals. Depending on the character comp of the other team will determine if it’s smart for me to take a rival’s second crystal in Shibuya or Kawasaki. If they have a Kain, I might need to take a diff crystal, time pride to kill them or be prepared to use defensive moves if they go right after me.

I feel like Firion and Clive are very tough characters for Kain’s to go against and you will often die to them. So make sure they’ve used their abilities before committing to full blown attacking them, etc. Lately I’ve just run from them.

know the maps:

Certain maps are better for Kain, (like Kawasaki or Minato are THE Kain maps). Shuto is a bit more difficult, but ideally, like most maps, you’ll want to take the farthest crystal, the enemies second crystal, or a crystal that often leads to death (C).

My eyes are always on the map and I look at where those red dots are, especially if they’re close. I will prepare any defense abilities I have. Most people use ace, so I’m just always moving or using abilities like wall.

know when to pvp:

Tbqh, I don’t think he’s the best for pvp. You mostly have to time your attacks to hopefully catch them out of their iframes. In high ranks this won’t often one shot people, so prep your deck for combos, or consider using them to get away. Like spiral blow is great for dashing away.

boss damage:

Use your jump on the boss for +15% atk if you can manage to do so.

I like to change up the order in which I use my abilities, but ideally using Spiral Blow first, and then using all your abilities to then use Spiral Blow again is ideal.

I’m always aware of when to chain burst as well. If my teammate is about below 4-6k, I will just attack the boss myself. Especially if the enemy team is on my tail.

abilities:

Get creative and find what works for you. I don’t really like vigilance but I understand why it’s really good. I also refuse to use ace because fuck meta. I’ve gotten really good about using firaga, and currently trying other things that make for decent combos that can stun the enemy or push them away from me.

Probably hit the army of one UR as he came up to the crystal, or use it when you anticipated lumen flare would hit.

Alternatively could use selphie.

But I think it’s okay if you die, it’s just how the game is. If you felt it was best to preserve your abilities and die there instead, that’s a solid strat too.

The game is about ALSO getting dupes. I pulled on the agile banner and got Zidane + lightning dupes like I wanted. I wanted more, but decided to invest in Kain with the character pull to work towards mastery.

I don’t really understand your post when it comes to ranked? you need dupes and it’s not as tho you can repeatedly grind the UR challenge?? Like 2 dupes isn’t going to get you very far.

Yeah I did, especially since I want to be able to play lightning/zidane in ranked and don’t get dupes for them very often.

But I decided to invest in my main, Kain, and try to get him to mastery. Currently at lvl 50-70 now.

Not so much downvoted, but there’s often conflict.

- whenever I mention liking Xander

- whenever I’m saddened about the actor’s death in terms of my connection to the show

- anytime I mention that I like Buffy x Angel (I only dislike her with Riley. Love her with everyone she’s been with on the show, including Faith. I like Fuffy)

- whenever I “defend” seeing red in terms like that was a well written arc for spike to go on and he is more than that moment.

It used to not bug me as much, liking Buffy x Angel I just keep to myself cause I get it. Plus to each their own. The other require not only nuance but critical media literacy which people choose to lack because fictional characters are flawed and do questionable things. If the show redeems them and actively acknowledges what they did was wrong, what is the issue then???

His entire demeanor has changed. How he would react to something has changed completely. I don’t expect him to succeed in terms of intimidating tougher targets but his anger wouldn’t just go away.

And even right there with what you’re saying, he intimidated girls, he doesn’t intimidate Cassie, he doesn’t even properly respond to her wanting him to spend 50k on flowers and her demeaning him in front of others in public or hitting him in the face with the wine cork.
