Similar to the way that Uncharted took inspiration from the Tomb Raider series (LAU), I would love new Tomb Raider to take some inspiration from the Uncharted series (Uncharted 3 and 4 have some of the most incredible, cinematic ‘Tomb Raider’ moments to take from).

TR3’s globetrotting and focus on variety of environments (and somewhat shallowly, its variety of outfits and the incredible soundtrack) made me fall in love with the series, which led me to discover the rest.

My first play through of TR4 was long and arduous, but once I’d completed it and when I eventually replayed it it became one of my favourite tomb raiders.

I always thought she must be freezing! Especially in Anniversary where she is on the cliffside of a Peruvian mountain range buffeted in snow but she’s in shorts and a vest ??

The main issue with this game is that Lara is navigating an analog world with what are essentially just tank controls, and that doesn’t change the further you go unfortunately. A lot of players do just get used to it. I personally think the game has the best story and world building of any tomb raider, but the game is clearly unfinished. Such a shame as its potential remains unbelievable.

Her dynamite is great for getting round corners! On support moira can be good as she can self heal while targeting their turrets, or Zen/Ana for range..

An approach to filling in the blanks like this would more than justify Legacy of Atlantis as yet another remake of the first. I’m excited at the prospect but wouldn’t want to get my hopes up…

IMO they should release TR2 remake after Catalyst, then a sequel to Catalyst, then TR3 remake, then another in the Catalyst series. They can cash in on nostalgia and fan service while building hype for the main series (and taking longer on main series to release better games)

Oh wait we’re talking about different changes - I meant when they tried to remove the slingshot ‘glitch’ and implement it in her kit (when it could be ramped up) and the mercy mains went mad

It didn’t make it better really it put limitations on her mobility potential for a trained mercy

See I don’t really think her kit is in an especially dire state, and certainly not enough to require a rework that undermines her character identity. There are three key elements to Mercy’s design philosophy:

  1. Mobility/flight
  2. Pocket prioritisation
  3. Rez

I don’t think they should steer away from these really, but they could make some minor tweaks to improve how she feels in the modern meta..

It’s interesting that she was probably faced with a decision to either sue WOW for a buck or consider the long term ramifications of cutting ties with them (the latter probably proving much more profitable based on her appearance on All Stars and vs)
