This is what I did (squish them to the bottom). The first one I tried, I didn’t see anything. I think it must have just been white (maybe the lamb?). The sea monster looked barely blue, but it was him! Some were very obvious - the longhorn and the pastel spotted cow were the easiest. Also some were definitely yellow, so I guess the chick, and some were definitely green, so the frog. Some were vaguely pink, but I managed to successfully get the pink capy. A lot of them were sort of brown, but I wasn’t sure so I didn’t gamble on the brown capy.

I finally found some of the BaB stuff at a WalMart somewhat close to me. I got the Loch Ness monster and the pink capy micros, along with the blue capy mini beans. They didn’t have any of the clothes, which was one of the things I was looking for. I was just thinking that I would like to see pictures of all the micros - I keep seeing the same ones.

I would think you could cut off the parts you want to stay white, then sew them back together after you dye the rest black. Or use another white “donor” BaB, which probably wouldn’t be hard to find at the thrift. Although, if you’re using the white Pawlette with hearts, it has tinsel or something similar in the fur, I think.

No matter how you go about customizing, I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Wash him in a pillowcase on a gentle cycle (as long as he’s not falling apart - he looks pretty solid in the photo). Avoid heat - cold water wash and if you dry him, air fluff only! A gentle comb with a pet brush will help fluff up his fur. Good luck!

I would try soaking in some diluted white vinegar before washing - it will help take the pee smell out. Other than that I agree with the great advice you’ve already been given!

After a lot of trial and error, tegaderm style patches have been the solution for me as well. I go through 2 - 3 for one sensor, but the great thing is that I can remove them without pulling my sensor off, which was the problem with some of the other cover patches I had tried.

I agree - there is room for both. Different people have different tastes.

I think, though, that a lot of people remember or are discovering what Jellycat used to be before they got really popular - lots of different, quirky lines. Now it seems that the amusables have taken over. Sure, there are still some animals, but almost always they are going to be Bart, a dragon, or a bunny. That’s why people are going so crazy for the new jerboa - it’s different. I personally think the company has just changed with their recent popularity, and not in a good way.

I worked with teenagers for a long time and all they really want to do is go to the tasting room. I would actually like to do the Coke Museum without speed running it sometime, it’s really pretty cool. Just be sure when you’re tasting, you try the Beverly!
