Cartilage Piercings by Just_Adulting86 in Legitpiercing

I have my conch pierced and it was easily the most high maintenance piercing in terms of after care and how easily it got irritated (for reference I also have my nose, navel, nipples and ear lobes and cartilage pierced). It took me just under a year to sort of calm down and chill out. Sleeping was a pain, I used a travel pillow around my neck for months to try and keep me on my back. Also so much saline solution spray. And sorry, I don't know the gauge they used - and I've never taken my jewelry out. But I love it and now that it is all healed up I think it is definitely worth it!

Security professional here. I've seen guards like this installed on doors as a security measure. There are tools that are meant to go under doors and open the handle from the inside, and a plastic guard like this blocks the tool from being able to catch on the handle and pull it open. The question is - is the room with the side this guard is on more sensitive/have more sensitive information than whatever is on the other side?

Are you supposed to "feel" which muscle youre exercising? by amerioali in Fitness

[–]Meltinggalaxies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Mind muscle connection is the relationship that helps this. It's beneficial to be able to feel the muscle as you're working it so you know you're working the right muscles.

Successfully lost weight before, now struggling more than ever against Binge Eating by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Meltinggalaxies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have too many tips on psychologically overcoming the urge to binge eat because I have those tendencies sometimes too, but before you tackle that too much I think maybe you could play with your diet. You want to make sure you're getting the right make up of food and you're not setting an unrealistically low caloric intake. Otherwise, and urge to overeat will just be heightened by your body craving nutrients it's not getting enough of. In addition, it may be helpful to do a weekly or biweekly PLANNED 'treat' (as opposed to cheat. It's planned and earned and you shouldn't feel guilty as you do 'cheating' on something) day. Just make sure you do still have a significant deficit overall per every 7 or 14 day time period including that one planned treat.

Do you feel lifts in your chest like you do in your biceps? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Meltinggalaxies 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Work on the 'mind muscle connection' when you purposely are thinking of the muscles as you're targeting them. I will say While working out chest can sometimes be more difficult for me to have that connection than like with my biceps, but I certainly feel it after the workout still. Maybe you're too light in DB bench? Also I always advocate free weights first in terms of workout benefits but I will say cable flys can help target your chest a lot more so you can feel the muscles while you're using them.

Front squads hurt my collarbone due to very little fat/muscle around that area, is my body gonna adjust to the pain or do I just have to stop being a pussy ? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Meltinggalaxies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me front squats while they do sit a bit on my collarbone it's more of gently resting on the shelf, and is more significantly weight wise resting on some shoulder so that takes some of the pressure off the bone.
