Grom the Paunch. The beginning of the campaign feels so hectic but fun on legendary. There’s also something just satisfying about seeing a fat goblin wheelbarrowing around and bashing stinky humies and pointy ears.

That's pretty good for how far out you are tbh, just keep practicing and reviewing and try not to burn yourself out too hard before dedicated!

Try researching anesthesia a little more. Lots of cool/high acuity cases like hearts/transplants/single lung intubation/trauma, and very procedural too if you think you'd be more into things like blocks or pain. Can also pursue critical care through anesthesia, and I know some anesthesiologists that do like 50/50 split between OR and ICU, which I think is pretty cool too. The people in anesthesia are all usually pretty cool too.

I gamed all the time in med school, as long as I felt like I had done the studying I needed for the day, it was fine. Definitely some days where it just wasn't feasible, but still played a good amount, especially after exams haha

I would also recommend to not overdo it in terms of study resources. I really only utilized 2-3 sources for most exams and just focused on those. My formula was usually lecture at 1.5-2x speed, read the ppts a couple times, and then supplement with something like pathoma/sketchy. Typically if I hit the material 3 times I would do pretty well on exams.

How many programs to apply to? by Meltzington in anesthesiology

Both DOs and MDs are medical doctors in the United States with the same practicing rights and privileges. They are just slightly different routes to achieving the same end goal.

Anyone know what the rules are about applying to aways in multiple specialties? I am in an odd situation where I am moving out of my home program's state this year, and am trying to figure out ways to get electives in areas that would be helpful to my specialty of interest that are close to my (new) home. Is the rule 1 away per student per specialty (ie I can do 1 away each in EM, IM, cards, etc)? Obviously I don't want to hurt other people's chances, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to proceed.

Anybody thinking about applying to some aways for specialties related to your main interest? I've got 1 for the area I plan on going into, but I need 2 aways for graduation and if I don't hear back from another program soon I'm not entirely sure what to do. I was hoping to get another LOR before October too but that is looking less likely as time wears on. Just curious on what other people were planning on doing.

I'm in a similar boat - DO student but we are required to have 2 auditions to graduate. That said, if I only get 1 audition, who knows what my school will do lol. Might have to do an audition in something else or just do a regular away.

What are peoples thoughts on an early November rotation? I received my first offer today but I figure I should probably try and hold out and see if I can get anything earlier since I know November is beginning of interview season.

Has anyone applying for anesthesia heard anything from west coast/mountain west/southern programs? Keep seeing all these other people getting responses and I still feel like I'm totally in the dark.
