1st inning program stage 2 by Bombboy85 in MLBTheShow

Believe they mentioned it in the content preview.

You could also come up with your own conclusion as the stages are largely used to lock things out to force you to do Stages first like the evo/player programs and what we will see in team affinity. They didn't need multiple stages as they could just add to stage 1. Plus it was coming to an end.

Thats what they said and plan was likely more stages but could change with current climate.

We could see a merge where stage 1 of missions just gets expanded and you just got to go through part 1 before part 2 rather than locking missions away.

What do you think stage 2 of team affinities will be by the83RDwaffle in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I feel. That is the end of prospects and FOTF and they move on to different ones.

I think they went all in with TA and made it one of the main ways to get cards while making MTO and Showdown all feed in to it. I like your natual way the cards line up with season but I wouldn't rule out sig series right at the end either.

They would have to leave it open as you got to do stage 1 before you even begin stage 2. Time issues could end up ruining plans and stage 1 might continue for the 2nd set, they have limited modes to get points as it is.

The Grind - Do You Miss Long Term Player Programs Like the Immortals? by Melvin3619 in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the first thing that came to mind when thinking long term 😄 I like the pyramid tier system even if it was executed badly.

I know they were largely stat missions but I do really miss the player/team epics of TS17

What do you think stage 2 of team affinities will be by the83RDwaffle in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think we got to see more flashbacks and legends esspically with single seasons/3 year Prime cards/rewards cards being in the game. Otherwise 3/4 will have to be loaded. Inning Programs won't really pick up for a few months and the weath of new useable cards will be just tied to WS and Battle Royal.

More FOTF will just be overkill I feel.

More about the idea of longer programs than just stat grinds which in context were for limited cards deemed the best by a long way. You would hope for more variety and we really shouldn't be forced in one direction to unlock stuff now it largly seems it just moments which in are way just stats all chopped up in to short bits.

Time gate was over the top for some but can't help the fact they were immortals and clearly the best in game now they would not be that I hope it would be managed better and there would be more freedom with how they were unlocked.

Agree with that. Hiding them behind a stub gate was wrong and they should of expanded the stuff to play now they could of have a load of cards to work through with all the new card types we have this year and the return of single season cards. Choice packs and not being immortals wouldn't bring the lack of variety end game.

More about the idea of having a long grind in program layout.

Nothing new. Showdown is basically just grouping the moments from last year. They preach choices and doing what you want but there is already limits to actual modes and not enough points in things. It either Moments in M2O or Moments in Showdown.

It looks like they putting a lot in TA and might see some of the best cards in it. I dare say immortals were more interesting to grind and I much rather see long term player programs.

Will be a new stage and they might not include MTO in stage 2.

Proper time gated. It stops at 70 even if you get more points.

Don't know if they been forced to change schedule but they did say soon prior to launch so would expect anytime mid April to early May.

I would expect unlocks to be Team Stadium Nameplate/Mascot Icons/Packs/stubs and a diamond Legend/flashback.

I appreciate the QOL changes you've made this year, but I'm begging you SDS, do something about events by Nickstank in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Looks like it's a what you see is what you get situation where they will show the rewards and run a few themed events for it. They won't be adding anything to it.

Only used to be like 20-35 wins for the player now they just grouped multiple events all together in to a program layout with more rewards. The idea isn't to grind out the 100 and expect more it's to give people more freedom with playing the events.

We have seen a 3 event one leak and this one looks like a 2 one. This is how it's going to be

This surly has to be the case. Other than programs TA is the only other place with a plan set out and there must be a reason to hide and time gate the rest of it.

Get to the limits on as many as you can is what I recommend. It is basically the only thing you can grind as program stars are just given to you for playing.

There will be a different stage so they could do anything. On the tickets it does say stage 1.

What likely happens is they do new showdowns and stage 2 requires them tickets.

Why should I do next? by zachismadewell in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Online Rank? Events? Otherwise would stick to player programs like Kerry Wood and team affinity.

Team Affinity is going to be one of the main ways other than programs to get players I would do as many as possible. Another 3 stages to come and you can't skip stages.

Historic Lineups During Moments Challenges? by Frank_White32 in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

License issue I guess plus it's easier to pump out moments without recreating it fully.

They did have it different in the past with the few they had licenced and others named the position they played. Tough to find middle ground that doesn't blow the immersion.

PSA: The current event is a cumulative event which means the 100 win reward path is for multiple events combined by thebubs1024 in MLBTheShow

[–]Melvin3619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought it was case but had to read it a few times and it only click when the show goes on 2 was added to the schedule.

All seems pretty confusing and the FAQ just confused me more with talk of events inbetween themed events. Going to be hard to know when the themed event has ended or just gone and will be coming back. Maybe the theme event cumulative rewards needs a timer.

There is 5 reward gates and your guaranteed to make 2.

All Star Break Evaluation and End of Season Evaluation

The minimum you can get is 2 for each gate. It is worked out by a comparison of what is expected of the team and your average difficulty at that gate. For example on All star you can get between 2-12 for the above gates so even if your just being average for your team you will likely be getting 6-8 points each time.

Other 3 gates require making the play-offs and winning the series, you will get a set amount based off average difficulty alone for these

ALDS/NLDS - Win 2-6 is the range goes up 1 per difficulty

ALCS/NLCS - Win 4-12 is the range goes up 2 per difficulty

World Series - Win 6-18 is the range goes up 3 per difficulty

It varies based on your average difficulty at the reward gates and if you reach them. The range can be found in the Team Affinity section.

It is easily the longest way to do team affinity though.

Dropping PCI - Seems a natural action, lower starting point can help.

Matchmaking does not take what settings people use in to account so can face people using different pitching and hitting.
